I think I've bought this game at least 6 times. Hey, what's one more right?

madcowzz3932d ago

Tempting, but I'll just wait for the remake.

hoju693932d ago

So now we will only have to wait another six months for them to port it to android, or maybe, like in the case of Final Fantasy Tactics, a few years.

FreddyFazbear3932d ago

This is good for the young generation who has not played this game. So that they may now understand why the FF7 remake made a lot of gamers cry and not just hype.

Simco8763932d ago

I fear that the younger generation will never know what this game really meant. With so many games out there and so many RPGs. The magic just isn't there anymore (gaming in general, not FFVII).

Bigpappy3931d ago

I played it when it was released on PC. It was the last FF game I played. Good game but waaaaay overhyped.

i mean, well deserved, its one of the best.

VenomUK91d ago

I’d love to know how many units have been sold of all the Final Fantasy VII franchise games, including the original, the remakes, spin offs such as Crisis Core, and mobile games Ever Crisis. I bet a fair few copies.

Modern day publisher be like: "Failed to meet sales expectations. Pivoting to live service."

aaronlif1091d ago

It's an absolute legend of a game. And I honestly really love how the remake trilogy is shaping up so far.

blacktiger91d ago

is the remake good if you didn't play ff7

Scissorman91d ago

If you already own it... There, I saved you the click on a deliberately misleading article.

DivineHand125114d ago

I bought the game yesterday on steam for $4 because Square Enix is trying to replace it with a version that has no mod support.

Prior to yesterday, I had no idea the game had so many great mods until people started making a fuss out of it.

Knightofelemia114d ago

I wish Square would port other old games to newer systems I want Xenogears.

gold_drake114d ago

You can thank FF7 scaring Baldur's Gate 2's director 'S***less' for every RPG since

But BG2 didn't emerge in a vacuum, and in a recent chat with Slandered Gaming it emerged that—while we can thank BG2 for a lot of our favourite RPGs since—we have a whole other game to thank for BG2. That'd be Final Fantasy 7, which lit a fire under BG2 director James Ohlen to go all out with the game's structure and companions, per Trent Oster—who worked on the original Baldur's Gate and has since become CEO of Beamdog, the studio behind the BG1 and BG2 Enhanced Editions.
