Does Batman: Arkham Knight's Batmobile Suck?

GI

Rocksteady’s latest, Batman: Arkham Knight, is a hit with fans of the DC superhero thanks to its authentic take on Gotham’s savior (read our glowing review). The developer has a history of nailing the look and feel of the city’s imposing gothic architecture, larger-than-life villains, and each of Batman’s handy gadgets. On the topic of fancy accessories, Arkham Knight marks the first time Rocksteady has set players loose with a fully playable Batmobile in its open world, and the iconic vehicle has some fans divided. Game Informer editors Matt Bertz and Tim Turi square off in this debate about the merits and failings of Arkham Knight’s speedy transforming war machine.

Doesn't suck, just uninspired, lazy and tired. They should have just made a Bat racer and called it a day, cause everything else is non-existent. The thing is, the potential is right under the scab. Its a damn tragedy of Bat-man proportions.

Everything else is non-existent.....WTF?

They've improved everything from the previous games. Freeflow combat is deeper than ever and stealth sections have more options and gadgets to use than ever before. Sure the Batmobile is used a lot but to say that the rest of the game is "non-existent" is BS hyperbole.

My fav Batman game and one of the best of this year. I love everything from this game and I didn't find the batmobile sections too tedious. Maybe because I cleaned these sections pretty quickly ...

@DrGonzo : I completely agree with you.

Lazy is such and overused word by gamers who are too lazy themselves to give an in depth opinion.

MilkMan3959d ago

No, I really meant lazy. I don't give passes because of licenses or past games or love of devs. Game was a mess. Some good parts don't make for a great package. But its going on sale and it should hit the bins soon enough, then more people can enjoy Bat-Tank Battles, the empty streets of Gotham.

I will say, that underneath it all, the story as paltry as it is, does have some redeeming value if played quickly. You can see the threads in the tapestry and realize (more or less) what Rocksteady was trying to achieve.

Its just buried in a ton of nonsense and that $40 dollar season pass? YIKES!

really turned me off... didnt even finish the game

as milkman said.. lazy.. after what felt like the 20th time i had to clear cobra tanks i had enough.. its not why i buy batman games

sprinterboy3959d ago

Agree n4rc, my reason for not finishing batman, which is a 1st. Certainly not a bad game though, will go bk to it I guess at some point.

gamer78043959d ago

I didn't enjoy it's controls at all. They clearly didn't have as much experience with driving physics.

addictedtochaos3959d ago

Same, didn't finish it either. Batmobile was forced on you way too much, should have always been an option.

I would also add Risk of Rain 2 as long as you don't stray too far from a power source as each run can be long as the hours melt away. Another thing to note is that based on the reports, the FPS may drop into the 40s if a lot of enemies are on the screen.

There is also the Half Life series. If you haven't played half-life before then you can do so now at the super low price.

Mafia was amazing looking and had a great story. Played flawlessly at 30fps as well without dips 99% of the time.

The same is true for Jedi Fallen Order

Sony games as also on sale. Picked up Rachet and Clank, cant wait to try it!
