Is Star Citizen worth playing?

PCGamesN:
Setting aside the persistent charges of feature creep and the question of whether or not Chris Roberts has gotten himself trapped in a Tholian Web of ever-tightening stretch goals, we concentrate instead on what really matters - what Star Citizen is like to play in its current form. After all, in spite of a protracted development that has recently attracted a series of attacks from perennial industry bittervet Derek Smart, a significant portion of the mega-crowdfunded space game has been available to play for more than a year now.

Surely we would be better to wait for the game to be finished before we draw any conclusions. In it's current form it is still a work in progress, and so any conclusions reached would be inaccurate, and not indicative of the finished product.

Yes the game is taking along time, and yes the vision for it is huge and it's anybody's guess if they will actually achieve it in the end. But we still hav to withold judgemt until the finished product is in our hard drives... assuming ofcourse that we will have PC's able to run the game when it eventually released.

Just wait for the whole thing to come out. Yes, it's probably going to take till 2017 or something. That's not long. 5 years is like, the minimum for the development of a AAA mmo.

Sure....since they raised close to a billion they don't even need to make a profit.

blacktiger76d ago

jznrpg76d ago

But it’s not funded by players for over 13 years. And it will release before Star Citizen

blacktiger76d ago

what difference does it make, it's being funded while you are pissed off, money is money. Why do you have emotion?

Pergele75d ago

Did you know you are so stupid? Like it's almost funny

Azurite76d ago

The money is allocated between two games, most of it goes to Squadron 42.

Feels like when at the mall people stop you to give you free products and once you accept they won't stop to follow you until you buy the rest ..... F-DAT !

Noskypeno76d ago

What, you don't want shoe cleaner that costs more than the shoe?

I do wish they'd release this for PS5 Pro at the very least. I've been craving a good realistic space exploration game since Frontier Developments stopped supporting ongoing updates for Elite Dangerous on consoles. I put a ton of hours into that game and then they just stopped console support when the Odyssey update came out. Pissed me off LOL. I guess I'll get back into No Man's Sky for the time being since there's a bunch of new stuff since I've last played.

I didn't even realise you had to pay. Who on earth is paying to play a game that is still in alpha over a decade on 😂

thorstein75d ago (Edited 75d ago )

"A decade?"

This started before No Man's Sky was announced.

2011. It's been a decade and a half.

Shameless plug for NMS: you can build all of Star Citizens' ships in NMS for free. The only difference is that one of these games has launched...a decade ago. And the new update allows you toto capture creatures and battle them in an arena.

It's still a giant money sucker fools and their money are soon parted.
