Digital Foundry:
As a summary of where things stand, Microsoft's machine continues to give the smoothest performance of the two, though it's shorn of the true, native 1080p output seen on PS4. It's also fair to say both could use additional refinement on a technical level, and that after so many false dawns the likelihood of a major break-through in performance is growing increasingly smaller. But three months on from The Witcher 3's original release, at least patch 1.08 puts us back on track.

According to Polish podcasters Rock and Boris, CD Projekt RED is reportedly planning a third DLC for The Witcher 3, set to release in 2026.
Sign me up. I haven’t played it since it released on PS4 so I could go for another run with a new DLC.

Nintendo Switch games that haven't received patches are still getting performance and loading boosts across the board on Switch 2.
I can definitely confirm the patch makes the game run the best its ever run.
Yup, I noticed after the patch that the game is running much smoother on my ps4.
I didn't notice it at all while playing but on that video I can certainly see 1.08 is blurrier than 1.05.
Strange that the video shows 1.05 still runs better albeit by a single frame in most sections when there is any differentiation except in certain parts.
Good patch though, at least it's not the mess it once was.
That 1.07 on xbox one is pretty bad. It is totally playable at 30 fps but to drop 20 at points.. My 760 maintains mostly 40.. but if I put on that hair thing on it is 30 to 40. Anyway, what ever the fps, it's a great game and I'm still in my first run because I do most of the side missions.
Infact, I remember Dragon age inquisition at some points was harder on my machine even though the recommended requirements are much lower than in W3.
Still waiting for the NG+ DLC...
