Gaming Trend writes: "Upon walking into the Eidos meeting room, expecting to only look at Tomb Raider, I was ushered over to take a look at another game in the making: Monster Lab. If there was any game that could satisfy your inner mad scientist, it would have to be this one. The premise behind the game is to create a monster and then use said monster to accomplish different tasks. With most Wii games, the fusion of Wiimote/Nunchuck and game is at worst nonexistent and none of the features of Nintendo's unique control system are used. Monster Lab actually takes advantage of these controls in all aspects of the game. This game is primarily aimed to the younger market as the content and graphics show."

Nintendo Life writes: "Despite a few minor shortcomings Monster Lab is a great 3rd party effort for the Wii which has solid controls that make great use of the Remote and will appeal to a broad age range. Kudos to Eidos and Backbone Entertainment for this excellent offering on the Wii, which will hopefully inspire other developers to turn out quality titles".

With all of the Wii titles, the golden standard, surprisingly, has always been Wii Sports.
