I didn't even know it existed.

I wouldn't say one of the best, I think it required this sequel to truly iron out the kinks. SSARBC launched with way too many technical issues and even to this day has a pretty dodgey framerate at times.

Here's a quote from a review in 2008...

"It's a nice touch, but a more advanced server/game browser would have been far more useful. More troubling, though, is the fact that the online portion of the game doesn't feel nearly as polished as the offline stuff. Music dropouts hit during matchmaking (I'm assuming it was trying to drop me into a game but failed), the framerate can drop, and the actual network latency is of serious concern.

There are network problems galore; lag, delay in actually registering inputs (which, for a game like this is the kiss of death), and, in one instance, a complete unwillingness to actually respond to the controls while people on the other team were doing just fine. "

That mimics my experience too, good fun but a technical mess at times. Rocket League has been much better. Still some issues here and there but very good most of the time.

Funnily enough I played SARPBC just before the Rocket League release and it STILL had people playing it online, it was easy to get into a game. This being 7YEARS after it released, that's unheard of now-a-days! IMO Easily still one of the best PS3 games to date :)

Shows the winning formula they were already onto, and then built on with Rocket League.
