Ooohhhh im all over next installment miles better than dead island (My opinion btw)
:)

BecauseImBatman3963d ago

Even objectively it was much better than Dead Island and Riptide which basically dlc turned into another game...

I quite enjoyed this game, much more than I was expecting. Was a smart decision releasing it in Spring when there was little to go up against it. Happy for Techlands success.

Lightning Mr Bubbles3963d ago (Edited 3963d ago )

I beat the heck out of this game, I earned level 25, and my weapons do like 2000 plus damage. So I kill zombies with 1 hit, and even those big brute guys with like 3 hits.

Wish they would make new mission packs, so I could keep on going and leveling up and killing different even harder kinds of zombies. I don't really care much for all the multi-player stuff.

Crazyglues3963d ago

wow looks really good, love that bow and arrow..

spacedelete3963d ago

is Techland owned by the publisher who also publishes Dead Island ? or did Techland get the boot ?

HaydenJameSmith3963d ago

Dead Island is owned by Deep Silver they published it and Techland developed it... I think Dying Light is owned by Techland but published by WB Interactive. I have no idea as to why they split and Techland went else ware but I think it worked out better for them.

BattleTorn3963d ago

Deep Silver, the publisher of Dead Island, dropped their original developers, Techland, who has now gone on to create Dying Light.

Omnisonne3963d ago (Edited 3963d ago )

Slightly off topic here but, as a publisher I think its a real shitty thing to do.. sacking the original developer team (who came up with and created Dead Island) And walk away with their ideas, what they were passionate about just because you bought or own the I.P

Apologies for the rant, I know this happens all the time but it's so dirty

Anyway on topic,
I played it again this week, a few months after i finished the story, and honestly I forgot how much fun the game can be sometimes. Can't wait for the new area/DLC :D

spacedelete3963d ago

@Battletorn interesting. so this is karma for Deep Silver who now have to find another developer when they already had a good studio to begin with.

hiredhelp3962d ago (Edited 3962d ago )

BattleTorn is exactly right in nutshell for some reason this was how it went down.
If you one thats into karma i believe techland got theres on deep silver.

Didn't like the first game so I doubt I will play the sequel, or more DLC content. To clarify I liked the combat & story, but hated the parkour mechanics on the PC.

smolinsk3963d ago (Edited 3963d ago )

Don't play a game like this on PC, what are you thinking? on ps4 it works great:)

LostPotato3962d ago

Frankly I just plain hate hate parkour in general. So it really doesn't matter what platform I play on.

smolinsk3963d ago

Only problem i have is that the BOW is ridiculous hard to get in that Horde thing

MilkMan3963d ago

All is cool as long as its included in the season pass.

I knew holding off playing it for 10 years was the right call.

ocelot07332d ago

I remember playing this for the first time on the PS4 and it knocking me sick and hurting my eyes due to the horrible motion blur and FPS.

Played it a lot on pc a year later. Then again on ps5 once they dropped the 60fps update. I'll be giving it another go. Mad how they have kept updating this game for 10 years.

Ten Years Later - Still Going Strong: Dying Light: Retouched Update Releasing June 26

Hey Survivors! Tymon here, your favorite Dying Light Franchise Director.

It's been an absolutely wild month here at Techland! We're in the thick of what I'm calling the "Summer of Dying Light," delivering updates and big news across all three Dying Light games. Just a few weeks ago, we dropped the first gameplay for Dying Light: The Beast, revealed its release date, and kicked off pre-orders (if you haven't seen it, check out my last dev blog). I'm incredibly proud of what we're building with The Beast - it’s the culmination of more than 10 years of experience in open-world survival horror!

But here's the thing: we never forget where we came from. That's why, this week, we're not just looking forward - we're rolling out significant updates for both the original Dying Light and Dying Light 2: Stay Human. We promised to support our games for a long time, and we're committed to continuing that support, right through and beyond the launch of Dying Light: The Beast.

Looking Back At The $386,000 Dying Light 'My Apocalypse Edition', 10 Years Later

It has been more than ten years since Dying Light was released, but what happened to the $386,000 'My Apocalypse Edition' of the game?

Nobody bought it for an obvious reason.

Gamingsince1981462d ago

Wtf did this edition come with ? A real helicopter and a real zombie virus ?

Vithar462d ago

For one lucky person willing to spend $386,000, the My Apocalypse Edition of Dying Light promised a staggering collection. It included the buyer’s face in the game, a human-sized ‘Volatile’ statue, and parkour lessons with a freerunning team. It also came with night vision goggles, an all-expenses paid round trip to Techland’s offices, and four signed copies of the game. Oh, and it also came with a custom-built, ‘zombie-proof’ survival shelter.

LOL but it was a stunt from the team:
‘It was a PR stunt and got a lot of media attention for its wild and over-the-top nature, it was designed to generate buzz around the game’s release. It did a great job of getting the game noticed, though! But nobody purchased it – thankfully, I guess!’
