Nintendo has announced earlier this summer that their will be several fundamental changes coming to the Miiverse. The announcement stated that their main concern is the long chats between players that aren’t game-related.

With its new ways of both creating and sharing user-made content, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has become the unexpected successor to Nintendo’s beautiful disaster of a social media experiment Miiverse.
Miiverse was insanity, and it was hilarious. It had a super strange community, there’s a bunch of YouTube videos about it.
I have smash ultimate, but haven’t checked out the new update. I’ll for sure take a look.

After shutting down a few months back, a few fans managed to collate Miiverse posts and save it on the internet.

The Miiverse gave myself, and so many others, a platform unlike any console had ever seen before. For once, our reactions to games, both about them generally and in the moment-to-moment, were given life in the games themselves. The Miiverse's concept was novel, fresh, new. It felt like the first true social video game platform. And it's a shame that it was for a console that hardly anyone actually played.
The Miiverse changes will change how the Miiverse as a whole in my opinion as I can see Nintendo is changing it like it wants to build it again with new rules.
I'm liking the play journal idea.
It's like a way of creating your own personal achievements/trophies through in-game pics.
I get the feeling there's gonna be some pretty creative contests using that...
Dumb...dumb...dumb...dumb....D UMBBBBBBBBB
So they peruse around at HOW their customer are using their product, and since we aren't following THEIR plan, they want to place artificial limits?
Way to thank everyone who bought an overpriced and underpowered console with little support. (oh I have one..day 1)
But since Nintendo made a clunker loser of a console, they should be happy that there are people enjoying it in ANY WAY POSSIBLE.
It's not their fault they made Miiverse and thought it would be like how Sony stupidly thought Playstation Home would be.
What is it with Japanese companies who think this boring crap is going to be 'hot stuff'?
So Nintendo didn't make it engaging about games, and helping others enough, and so now they want limit the customers who have stuck around? Wow, talk about a stab in the back.
Maybe if you had more than 2-3 games a year worth buying, people would actually have a reason to talk about games.
Last I checked, one such game that people would no doubt need help on, Zelda, isn't on the console.
Nintendo, quit using your time on crap like this. Make more games. Make a console that doesn't have the equivalent of $10 of power in it by today's standards.
I get making changes to make it better.
But the limits are downright insulting.
Oh noes, they are straying from the script....time to limit them!
The last thing Nintendo needs to do is alienate it's customers, but here they are, acting like morons again.
Oh and Nintendo, maybe people would be TALKING ABOUT GAMES, IF YOU ACTUALLY HAD VOICE CHAT IN YOUR GAMES.
Nintendo, bass ackwards about everything these days.
Seriously Nintendo needs to enable party chat into its online service
How do they expect me to use Miiverse just for games when they hardly release?
This year, there was only a couple titles released so far.
