"Most of us want the game to be one thing, fun. Others want a carbon copy of BF2 with a ton of new stuffed crammed in. I am here to tell you that nowhere will this ever be the case when a new developer takes over an IP from a dead development studio. This is a reboot, and you should treat is as such. That was how most of us game changers went in to this program, and I think you all will love it"

Why change things people loved about BFII

If you go into it you'll keep the stuff people loved and expand on it. It's not rocket science.

Calling it a reboot is really just a sneaky way to hide how much content is missing compared to past games so you can pass it off as a "reboot" and "not a sequel" when really at the end of the day the fact is it's Battlefronts "next instalment". Just comes across a way so you can put most of the old stuff in as a DLC, similar to what EA did with the Sims 4. Remove old features, include them in DLC.

I mean if you know the audience loves features X, Y and Z in the old games then why would you get rid of it or change it. Just seems you are messing with fire at the end of the day.

"I have no clue about DLC"

Lol...yeah sure

"loadouts"

<sigh>

I liked the preset ones. It made it more balance and fit more in with the fact that one guy wouldn't know how to use everything. You earned your way to the top. For example

Stormtrooper - Standard
Shock Trooper - Rocket Launcher
Scout Trooper - Sniper
Imperial Engineer - Fusion Cutter (Repairman)
Imperial Officer - Mortar Launcher & R4 Recon Droid
Dark Trooper - Jump pack

Hopefully BF2 Dice will have space battles and actual Hero Assault not the 1 on 1 jedi battles that are rumored.

You seem to have all the answers and have played the game extensively to know that this game doesn't stack up with the original games. I truly envy you in your high level development position that allows you to play games as anticipated as this one. /s

Considering most of the stuff which made the last one so great have been cut then yeah how can it stack up.

Don't need to play it or be a genius to work that one out.

But no...go ahead and pay for the extra shit after launch that should have been in the game from the start.

Becuzisaid4010d ago

Thanks I will. If I find the add on content to be interesting, then I will get it.

And there was this game that came out a while back called Tomb Raider, it had awesome tombs to explore with complex environmental puzzles, and really introduced many people at the time to 3D platforming. It had a reboot recently, but not really any awesome, expansive tombs, and certainly no complex puzzles. Actually it was quite linear and actiony as opposed to explorative and platformy. By my estimate, most people found that game pretty damn awesome. Go figure.

They only let in the game the mechanics that matter and fit their vision.

I introduce you to something completely insane called game design.

Immorals4010d ago

I seriously can't wait for this game. One of my favourites back then!

One more thing for the list, will be first on EA access. https://mobile.twitter.com/...

Wouldn't be surprised if Sony work out a way to counteract this!

A Beta on PS4... Counteracted!

* Can't get into the habit of getting stuck in the past.

It was what it was, but this has to be something a bit new.

* All the really honestly need to do is build a nice solid base to build off of for future games.

* Obviously this Star Wars thing is back in full gear so it's going to be relevant again for another 5-7 years.

This means there will obviously be another Battlefront type of game after this one in which improvements and other features can be introduced and included.
