Right now, despite whoever you play with, you're only playing to have fun and win/lose. There's no ranked 3v3 yet, there's no clan/team stat tracking systems in place yet.
I would love it if they implemented Teams with WIN/LOSS records, tournaments, etc. Just stuff to add weight to playing.

I honestly think it has to do with the fact that there's no perks, boosters, mods, or buffs. This in turn allows great focus on mechanics while simultaneously making it vastly simpler to balance.
I wish more competitive multiplayer games would ditch all the upgrades, it just tends to completely throw the balance out of whack which more often than not never gets fixed
Simplicity, Just plain fun.
It's strange two of the genres I hate the most: racing and sport amalgamated together to make one awesome addictive package!
