Need for Speed bringing back "really deep customisation"

Producer Leanne Loombe from Ghost Games talks Gamereactor through what's new in the next entry in the Need for Speed series.

"Fans have been asking for customisation for a really long time, so we're really excited about bringing back really deep customisation, both visual, performance and handling as well."

"The handling is something we're really proud of and really excited, because in this game can both do either grip or drift handling," Loombe added. "So grip is from the more classic Need for Speeds, and Drift is from the more modern Need of Speeds, but in this game you can choose to do whichever one you want, which is great."

Loving the detail and mods you can do. They just need to drastically tone down that OTT drift mechanic. It literally looks like the cares are trying to change the rotation of the planet the way they go sideways.

In the article it said that it has the classic style drift and the new style drift. It is ultimately up to the player to decide which style they want.

Iceman_Nightmare3873d ago

Can you provide me some proof on classic drifting returning?

ChronoJoe3873d ago

You can turn the camera sway off, too. As it extremifies how extreme the drift looks.

GamahFoLife3873d ago

Good. Should also bring back Hot Pursuit.

I want a demo. I want to be able to go on Origin and download a freaking 15-20 minute demo so I can actually see how this plays. Need for Speed always looks good to me, and I always end up disappointed when I actually get it.

Peace_Love_and_FPS3873d ago

You have a demo. It's called their "Good Game Guarantee". Don't love it? Return it, free of charge.

RedDeadLB3873d ago

Nothing before I part ways with my money I presume? I think the last demo they provided was for Mass Effect 3 or maybe Kingdoms of Amalur. Twas a long time ago..

Peace_Love_and_FPS3872d ago

Money which returns to you. Again, I don't think they honestly need it when they have that :P

JVIV3873d ago

Isn't it spelled "customization"????? ?

slappy5083873d ago

Very exciting to hear. I haven't played a racing game since NFS Underground 2 can't wait to pick this one up

USMC_POLICE3873d ago

Wow you missed out on a lot of good racing games then. Test drive unlimited, forza horizon, grid.

slappy5083873d ago

Not a fan of racing games, especially sims. I just liked need for speeds arcade style coupled with the fact that you could customize your car; burnout and underground are probably the only racing games I'd consider unless there are other games that come out that are quite similiar, I drive enough in my car as it is I don't want to emulate it in a game :p

GearSkiN3873d ago

what about PGR back on xbox360! those are arcade racing, and i wish they remake that game!!

slappy5083873d ago

Oh never played that one, if they bring it on backwards compat I'll give it a try !

Fans: Need for Speed Underground 1 + 2 Remake
EA: Why no one buy our live service games???

RaidenBlack223d ago

Bought Codemasters .... absolutely mismanaging them the traditional EA way ...

Red3f1ned222d ago

Oh ea... Your ability to destroy everything you touch will never cease to amaze me. I guess Madden is still going but only because the people that play it are not very intelligent. That, or they're masochists that love getting screwed.

underground 1 and 2 are still the best ones.

isarai424d ago

And they're spent every game after that trying to chase that high and never meeting it

Ninver423d ago

Makes you think if gamers are looking to relive nostalgia or each dev that has attempted to mimic the glory days are just incompetent?

DarXyde423d ago

Truth. Loved Midnight Club.

I wouldn't be mad at another proper Underground or Most Wanted (PS2/X360) entry though.
