CEO Randy Pitchford says that work is well under way for the game, and that Gearbox is looking to partner up with another developer

Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford told '4K stubborn' players to switch to 1440p resolution or at least use NVIDIA DLSS in Borderlands 4.
Dude still running his mouth again, not sure how he still has his job all these years lol
He's wrong for saying that, gearbox/2k are wrong for him having to say that. But if you're struggling with fps, for gods sakes try out either dlss with frame gen or fsr with frame gen. It helps so much. I'd rather not have to use it, but smooth gameplay is a must.
how is the performance on PS5? has anyone tried it? I will buy with my friends once its on sale
we went from sub HD/30 fps during the PS360 gen to sub HD/30 fps with fake 4k during the PS4/Xbone gen and then from that we went onto sub HD/choppy fps all masked by AI to output a fake 4k/60 fps. PC gaming has gone to shite while on console the very thing players loathed two gens back is now widely accepted cause fake frames. Y'all folded, and this is the standard now. Ya know what it isn't U5, it's devs taking over half a decade to develop one game and purposely choosing to skip optimization.
Gearbox need to hire more or better people for optimisation.
But what they need more than that, is someone moderating Randys social posts…..

The developers behind the original Borderlands discuss their last-second Hail Mary to change the course of the franchise.
ever since XIII came out I really loved the cell shaded artstyle in games. I probably wouldn't have tried it if it didn't have such a style like that

Randy: "I am sorry there was a misunderstanding. The absolute sincere truth is that I don’t want anyone to pay any more than they should or are comfortable with and I always work with the intent and hope that a customer always feels they got the better end of the deal no matter what they pay. The actual context was that a guy replied to a post about Borderlands 4 on the Nintendo Switch 2 was warning me that if the price ends up being $80, the game will fail. What I was trying to do was explain that it wasn’t my call but that if a $10 price increase does happen (since that’s obviously where the industry is going), it will be okay and that Borderlands 4 will be okay because it’s a great game and there are a lot of fans who will see the value and want it."
It will sell well because it’s Borderlands, but I’m not getting it Day 1 now. I’ll happily wait and buy something else.
He just had to open his mouth, I don’t know why they don’t see how much of a PR disaster he is.
Makes me wonder why people like this lead games and franchises that are beloved. Dude just needs to shut up and never speak their opinions on social media lol. Just chill and enjoy your life with the 7 figure salary you get bud.
There's nothing to buy because there's no apology here except for how WE "misunderstood" what he so clearly typed out.
Yea like we’re just dumb consumers that don’t understand PR damage control. Hey Randy, if you cared about the fans you’d fight against this stupid price hike… oh wait…
I'm not saying no but if the last game is any indicator I don't know if I'd be interested. Let's hope this time around they vastly improve what they release.
Wonder if the CEO will have to chip in $10 million of his own cash into this game as well
WHat?! so only 9 more years then?
Duke can come back, just whatever the FULL story is behind duke forever is we'll probably never completely know (even though there is stuff out there, I just don't think it's the whole story).
Duke is, at heart, a satirical take on things. It was a satirical tough-guy 80's/90's action hero where he got his start so he may have to be updated a little but there is plenty of room to poke fun but what made duke really stand out was the fun gameplay in duke3d. Few games were as interactive (and to this day most games still aren't) as duke3d was so if you give us a fun game with a lot of funny satire, we can enjoy duke again. Just not what duke forever was. I waited way too long for that and don't understand how that much time gave me that game.
Free idea: Extremely interactive hub world (strippers, casinos, bars, phones, lots of small, fun, stupid shit to do) with missions to go on but always coming back to the fun hub section. The action was great but so was messing around.
Just let this die... Gearbox stick to milking Borderlands, god knows you can't do anything else.
Oh wait, Randy is pretty good at bulshitting too, but that's about it.
