Havok announced today that Lionhead Studios have licensed Havok Complete for use in the upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive RPG, Fable 2. The sequel to the hit Xbox and PC title is once again being headed up by famed game creator Peter Molyneux, the man behind Black and White, The Movies, and Populous.
As the chief executive officer of Lionhead Studios, Peter Molyneux chimed in on the merits of using the Havok engine. "Using Havok's technology means that we don't have to worry about finding an efficient way to do all the complex physics calculations ourselves that are required to create a huge, vibrant, real time and persistent virtual world such as the one we're creating for Fable 2. By using Havok, we bypass a lot of the heavy physics maths and concentrate our teams more on the creative and innovative elements of the game."

The Outerhaven writes: Being fans of Fable, we decided to do an in-depth retrospective on the Fable franchise, exploring its choices, consequences, tone, and lasting impact on RPG design.

The Xbox 360 was a fantastic console in its day with some truly classic titles, but what are the seven best games for the console?
I'll go with,
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Culdcept Saga, Shadow Complex, Ace Combat 6 with the flight stick,A Kingdom for Keflings, A World of Keflings.
Bonus Kinect Games: Happy Action Theater and Sesame Street.
*Skyrim was so bad on PS3 that it almost deserves to be #1*
Was this made by a.i.? No human being would put Shadowrun, Fable III, and Splinter Cell: Conviction into a list of the 7 best Xbox 360 games.
Would love to play Ace Combat6 on PlayStation, but Xbox decided to buy exclusivity and keep it off a competing platform.
The only mainline game I never played except for one level at a friends place. Game sold less than any other in the series if I remember correctly.
When the current gen XBOX offering is so lacking people need to refer to games released two generations back....
Translation for everyone, here's the original starting quote:
"Using Havok's technology means that we don't have to worry about..."
And here's what he meant to finish with:
"...delaying the game half a decade and releasing a half-baked version missing some of the most-hyped features."
Fable was good, but it should have been so much more. Here's to hoping for the best in Fable 2.
Fable was a major letdown because of what was promised by Lionhead, but it will still stand the test of time as being on of the greatest and most innovative RPG's ever. So it's half baked compared to what it was suppose to be, but still a definite success.
is going to be sweet!
Fable 2 and Mass Effect are THE games to watch out for in 2008.
Fable 2, Mass Effect, Bioshock, etc... and don't forget Metal Gear Solid 4 in '08. Oh' yes its coming to 360, the shareholders know best.
