Pretty sure the divide was already there..

Crazyglues4005d ago (Edited 4005d ago )

You took the words right out of my mouth... LoL

Was just going to say, wasn't the divide there all along... :)

"With the reputation that has been made recently with bad ports, the tempers of PC gamers are getting shorter and shorter."

So? What are you going to do quit playing new games? I'm pretty sure console games released over the past year have been in much worse states. Having to wait to get the frame-rate over 30fps or getting maxed out graphics at high resolutions is not the end of the world.

Also whoever bought this game on PC for over $30 is an idiot since it was being sold for $30 before launch and now $18 after on cdkeys.com.

Yeah, always some vocal rageholes when something is less than perfect, even if it is fairly trivial stuff really. It's not really a divide between console gamers and PC gamers though. Just a set of dissatisfied customers that are pissed at WB.

On the plus side, you can pick up the PC version of Arkham Knight for ~£10 now lol.

It had a major microstuttering issue.
That's when the game freezes constantly thus you're unable to control what's happening. That is not an ok issue on any platform.

Volkama4005d ago (Edited 4005d ago )

Not really saying it is ok, nor that people shouldn't complain. It probably wouldn't get fixed if people didn't complain and/or take advantage of steam's refund policy.

It's the rage and petty aggression that are unnecessary. The stuff that can spill over into console rivalry for no good reason, and set this apparent "divide".

By the by, micro-stuttering is not really what you described. That's full fat stuttering.

Actually yes I would stop buying AAA games if the publishers can't be bothered to develop proper PC games. AAA gaming is a minor section of PC gaming whereas it's the majority of games on consoles.

PC gaming wouldn't be harmed much by not getting the lazy AAA ports we get now. We play different games to what console gamers do.

Before Batman AK came out I hadn't played a AAA game for months. I normally play either F2P like World of Warships, indie games or Early Access games like ARK Survival Evolved or Rust.

DragoonsScaleLegends4005d ago

Yeah I know buggy games can really piss off anyone since we use our money to buy them but I would rather play these buggy games than ever switch to indies and horrible F2P games.

Not sure why console and PC gamers would or should be mad at each other over this. Shouldn't they be mad at the companies releasing broken games?

I know there are antagonistic people on both sides, but the fault of a bad port isn't the gamers, it's the publishers

Even bad ports on consoles alone shouldn't be something that is there to bring apprehension to the community...bad ports should be hated regardless of system preference, because it's a problem that affects everyone, even if one particular game doesn't have that problem.

fermcr4005d ago (Edited 4005d ago )

The best thing that happened with Steam was refunds. WB has already felt it from PC gamers. I suspect Ubisoft will be next...

MoeStedley4005d ago

The return system is exactly what PC gaming needed. I completely agree with you.

DualWielding4005d ago

arkham city and origins were also broken on PC at release, why are people surprised now that the same thing happened with knight

d3nworth14005d ago

Console and PC gamers aren't divided. Console and PC fanboys are. They're busy arguing over their toys and giving gamers a bad name.

I would also add Risk of Rain 2 as long as you don't stray too far from a power source as each run can be long as the hours melt away. Another thing to note is that based on the reports, the FPS may drop into the 40s if a lot of enemies are on the screen.

There is also the Half Life series. If you haven't played half-life before then you can do so now at the super low price.

Mafia was amazing looking and had a great story. Played flawlessly at 30fps as well without dips 99% of the time.

The same is true for Jedi Fallen Order

Sony games as also on sale. Picked up Rachet and Clank, cant wait to try it!
