Eurogamer:
PlanetSide 2 may well be the greatest war game ever. Not because it has slick mechanics, memorable technology or even innovative ideas, but because it understands and portrays war in a way that few other games have managed.

Planetside 2’s future is uncertain as the IP was sold for a relatively low sum to a company with no history.
Was such a cool concept back in the day - shame that it never really took off like it probably could have with more support
The last Live Letter is done and we were all surprised at the announcement of a delay to the release of FFXIV's Endwalker expansion, we got some more details about the MMORPG's new PvP Crystal Conflict mode, and some system details. Then we talk about PlanetSide 2's new continent and LOTRO's new expansion before wrapping up with some good changes for Ubisoft and Blizzard... but are they enough? All that and more on this week's Always Online!

PlanetSide 2 is going to be getting its next major expansion this December. This new addition, titled “Expedition: Oshur” will be the first addition in almost seven years to bring an entirely new continent to the game.
I tend to agree with the article, probably the most realistic portrayal of warfare in videogames.
A great addition to the PS4 library.
Tried it, played for a couple of minutes, deleted it after horrible 'quad bike' ride thru the ugly looking world. Not my cup of tea, I guess.
The scale is incredible, you can have fun just driving around in a sunderer with anti aircraft flak cannons/ammo restock. I love being lone wolf perimeter anti-air support. You could totally specialize in something completely different though. The choices are fairly robust. Nothing like it on console and definitely not ugly. The light rays on hossin are impressive.
Tried it day 1. Couldn't see what the fuss was all about, since it does nothing that hasn't been done before. It's not a bad game, by any means, I guess, but darn is it generic as hell. Being an MMO game with overpriced crap doesn't help.
