In the latest issue of Edge, head of Microsoft's Xbox division Phil Spencer discusses what it was like knowing that Xbox One could support Xbox 360 games, and why 2015 was the right time to pull back the curtain. "This, for me, as a gamer and as somebody who cares so much about the brand, has been the hardest thing about not leaking it," he says. "I’ve wanted to tell people, 'Hold onto your 360 games!' There were a hundred times where people had to stop me from tweeting that out over the past six months, because as I would see a game that works I wanted to tell people: 'Keep it – don’t sell that! Even if you sell your 360, keep your games!'"

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

LucasArts gave Jango Fett his own game in 2002, and it pulled Star Wars into a much dirtier, rougher, and more interesting corner of the galaxy.

Dear team,
Xbox has always been different.
We started with a simple idea. Games should bring people together through shared experiences. That led to the first Xbox in 2001, Xbox Live in 2002, and new ways to connect, from friends lists and achievements to parties and play across devices. Today, Xbox reaches over 500 million players around the world, with some of the most important franchises in entertainment.
If they go back to exclusive games it at least shows that they are finally getting it. They would be turning down immediate money for something that will potentially workout in the long term.
Only issue is they've already opened Pandora's box. A lot of their base has moved to PC or jumped to PS. So will be a long road to get back on track.
We have been saying this from day one exclusives are a must if you are going to be selling hardware look at Nintendo and Sony before Jim Ryan. That's the proven formula. You had some that were deluded and blinded by loyalty accepting that multiplat was the future and that MS was merely getting ahead of where the industry was headed, but at least they can finally see the light and agree with what everyone has been saying for a decade+
Despite all of that, it's clear that Microsoft's Xbox division is broken beyond repair.
"There were a hundred times where people had to stop me from tweeting that out over the past six months, because as I would see a game that works I wanted to tell people: 'Keep it – don’t sell that! Even if you sell your 360, keep your games!'"
Well the surprise factor at E3 made it worth it. Definitely worth keeping mum until then imo.
Now we just need an update on how the team are progressing with the BC games library.
I just wish I had been going to the marketplace to download the 360 games this whole time that are free each month.
Changing that this month. Grabbing Gears 3 cause you know it'll be coming to bc
All my friends told me I was crazy for buying most of my games digitally last gen. Well... least there's some payoff coming my way after they sold all their 360 games.
What sucks is that I bought another XB360 a few weeks before this announcement lol. Of well I can play them for now and then put my 360 in my sons room and he can play with it while I play my games on my XB1. Guess it wasnt a bad deal.
