@Broburger, I would encourage you to offer more than just an initialism, not because you are not allowed, as if I had the power to decide that, but because doing so fails to convince anyone of your views, and will only serve to make them more set in the ways that you are against.

@RPGrinder, I understand your opinion, and while I also agree that a company's actions should not be overlooked out of favoritism, as I derived from your statement of Sony's interview in regards to the 3DS and their general opinion of it, I feel that I must argue your point in regards to Nintendo being allowed to say whatever they want.

It is very much true that they can, just as they been doing as of late, express their opinion regarding other companies and their perceived self-success at E3. However, we must understand social constraints here. To mainly speak of their statements regarding their performance, to the general public, the mass majority of whom were not at E3, they were unpopular. Even Miiverse was ablaze for a time after the digital event from unsatisfied owners. Nintendo has found themselves in a rock and a hard place, and just as with diplomacy between two angered nations, special care must be taken to avoid war. In this case I feel the diplomacy was botched.

I perceive the statements of the Nintendo leadership to be a great example of a social echo-chamber. Among them and what they saw, it was a success. They saw people having fun and enjoying themselves, and they were able to talk amongst themselves and say to each other that it was good, thus strengthening that view within them. the problem is that it's rather easy to see people having fun at E3, it's the equivalent of a annual trip to Wonderland for gamers, and those who would find themselves at the Nintendo booth would be those who are already fans of what Nintendo does rather than your general passerby.

In such a circumstance where you find yourself in charge of a physical event that a vast minority will actually experience, you must take special care not to think to heavily of your own opinion, or propagate it too heavily. The majority opinion is still vitally important, and if your mending proclamation is you just have to play it for yourself, that won't settle anything, for our opinions are formed by what we experience and less so what we are told, care should have been made to instead make amends by explaining reasoning behind their actions, which was done in the form of their statements of wanting to focus on this year and early next year, while offering up something as collateral, such as affirmation of a new game, just a verbal affirmation would be enough.

As for their statements regarding the other members of the Big 3, I have come to the hypothesis that it is an attempt at reaffirming consumer faith by tearing down to build themselves up, however as this is frankly rather fallacious, if not at least close to being so, it didn't really work. Especially when that which your tearing down is currently bigger in key aspects and more noticed compared what your building. Companies naturally try to build hype and loyalty among their fandoms and Nintendo could very easily not be aware that they're even doing this, for it is very likely that they just honestly believe it and feel that they should help people see what they see.

While I am quite fond of Nintendo, I must not have favoritism in my analysis of their actions, The way they handled majority opinion was very poor, for they quickly resorted to their own experiences instead of creating it for their audience. Which is why I agree with the video stating that they need to quiet down, at least until the tempers cool.

I find it weird that people attack Nintendo for everything but they fail to see the positive. Like the Iwata interview they didn't mention this point.

Talking about downloadable game sales Iwata went on to say that Nintendo's total downloadable game sales reached 31.3 billion yen—about $254 million—in revenue, which he said was a 30 percent increase from fiscal year 2014. However Iwata seemed concerned, saying that it "sets a different wholesale price for these two versions."

Along with this he also talked about the replacement for Club Nintendo possibly coming later this year where he said he wanted
"a system where Nintendo can give (individual) offers to each consumer."
