"In a recent interview with a German publication, Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Star Fox, stated that the controls for Star Fox Zero will take some getting used to. Miyamoto pointed out that a few minutes at an expo is not an ideal amount of time to get the grasp of Star Fox' controls. Miyamoto stated that it may take "one or two days" to really understand the controls of Star Fox" -- Nintendo Enthusiast.

Shigeru Miyamoto recalls a story from Pokémon creator Satoshi Tajiri, explaining how a lighthearted remark led to the creation of Pokémon Red and Green.

TNS - "Games eventually stop running when newer versions come out," said Shigeru Miyamoto on why Nintendo is pivoting to movies.
They'll definitely stop running if y'all keep going after emulators and rom sites smh. Also movies get lost to history too. You got fans and pirating to thank for any effort being put into preserving movies. If not for them we'd be stuck with watching heavily re-edited versions of classics. It's so weirdly backwards to say that too when games have overtaking movies for years now smh
SMB movie made almost a billion and a half on a 100 mil budget , I'm sure Zelda if done right will make even more as it has a wider appeal . Easy money if they put a N branded quality movie every few years . Hopefully we'll eventually get a Metroid movie.

Only if you make live service slop or online only single player games.
My classic Nintendo cartridge systems still run fine...

'We believe that it is important to nurture developers who take this unique concept to heart.' -Miyamoto
Well with the exception of Zelda and Xenoblade Chronicles series, Nintendo first party games are usually less demanding (see Arms, Nintendo sports series 2d kirby + mario games, Mario sports series, Warioware, Mario Party etc).
Zelda doesnt even have voice acting for its characters most of the time and its games use simpler textures than lets say Horizon Zero Dawn, Last of Us, Gears of War 5 etc which means that the development costs are lower.
Even so, their games are generally polished and well thought of and as the Switch generation showed, many of their franchises actually grew considerably in sales (Kirby , Xenoblades, Metroid etc).

Ok, i get it...utilize the gamepad, but there are other ways to make it a cinamtic experience. I just dont like the idea of having to worry about flying and aiming with the gamepad while playing...
This would be awesome in a Star Wars game! Flying the Millenium Falcon with the pro controller attacking the empire. Your buddy on the couch with the gamepad controlling the gun turret keeping Tie Fighters off your back side.
I can't wait to see how this turns out. Too bad so many gamers will flip out over the change and proclaim more hate for the system.
Not a problem. I played many games were people said the controls suck but adapt to so easy.
specifically Kid Icarus: Uprising. One of the best players too.
Now that I think about it, kojima studios should have developed the game.
I will most likely just turn the gyro off but that might change. Initially I heard Splatoon's controls were tricky until I played it myself and found them easy. Now I can't imagine playing it without motion controls. Star Fox Zero could be the same.
