Few series are as ripe for a reboot as a Sonic is.

In an interview, SEGA Sound Team lead composer Tomoya Ohtani revealed that Sonic’s global music success didn’t come from chasing trends overseas.
I think this is how Japanese devs need to think. Catering to the west is a terrible idea. I personally, seek out Japanese developed games because they bring a unique experience to gaming. They just stand out more that way.
The sonic music is iconic the mega drive games were some of the best on the system but i wouldn't say they were free of western influence especially since 3 was composed in part by Michael Jackson
But honestly most of the crush 40 soundtrack music lives in my head rent free
Uhhh that's a strange thing for him to say. Even in the interview he admits to listening to a lot of western music.

The Outerhaven writes: My Arcade debuts the Sonic the Hedgehog arcade mini-cabs, the mighty player and joystick player at CES 2025.

The popular Sega franchise, Sonic the Hedgehog, has been really successful in recent years, forging paths for the recent upcoming titles.
Please no, with what they did with Sonic Boom I only can imagine how bad a Sonic reboot would be.
All that SEGA and Sonic Team need to do is make a good Sonic game that has Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow playable again with a story as well developed as the Sonic Adventure games
No, they just need to make games like Sonic Generations, Colours and the daytime stages of Unleashed.
I just want another Allstar racing transformed! The only cart racer that came owe to Mariokart
Seriously, I really feel that if they took Sonic back to its roots, gathered their owned characters and titles, then invested what money they've got left, Sega could enter the console field again with a basic console priced at half of that of the other three and frame their console as the cheap alternative that is designed to play multiplat titles but with lower (but still HD and pretty) graphics settings.
Sorry this is out of the blue, but seriously, a well made Sonic game modeled after the original, a nice shooter, and maybe an RPG would be perfect launch games if they wanted to re-enter. They probably just don't have the financial backing though :/
They have, SEVERAL Times and with barely any success... Sonic Colors was the best Sonic game in recent and that's after SA1 and SA2
