That is really sh***y for Rocksteady. I hope they mean early fall before games like Battlefront, Fallout 4, Halo 5, and so on come out.

TomRL3998d ago

Yes how dare they fix their game for the benefit of consumers.

Palitera3998d ago (Edited 3998d ago )

I'm not someone who alleviate things for devs, but this time ain't the fault on the company that ported the game and on the publisher who decided how to do it and to deal with said company?

Rimeskeem3998d ago (Edited 3998d ago )

@tom

I'm not saying they shouldnt fix it but when they release it they wouldn't want to release it when all those big titles are coming.

Cindy-rella3998d ago

Im sick of unfinished games and unoptimised games that gets released on pc. After having a lot of pc problems i bought a ps4 which is the best gaming platform for playing video games now.

starchild3998d ago

Umm...did anyone notice that this is talking about the "SteamOS, Linux and Mac" versions? I seriously doubt they will delay the re-release of the Windows version until Fall.

Perjoss3998d ago

@Cindy-rella

This is the nature of PC gaming, because there are almost infinite configurations to develop for there's always some kind of problem on someones machine somewhere, usually down to the fact that people are trying to run new and demanding games on old hardware. Not making any excuses for bad ports as they should simply not happen.

It's kind of like having a sports car, its not the most reliable and cost efficient toy but when it works, nothing can come close to the fun you have with it.

It's also very nice to be able to get your hands dirty by changing or adding stuff the devs didn't bother with. Stuff like a missing FOV slider, missing AA and improved controls can usually be added or fived by the community. The price you pay for all this freedom is that things don't always work perfectly.

Grap3998d ago

@Perjoss
You clearly don't know how PC works how many time we are going to educate a peasants; no developer optimize every single card out there, there's API that make things a lot easier.

jmc88883998d ago (Edited 3998d ago )

Um, it already released, meaning they already cashed in for PS4/XB1...and even PC.

They just pulled back the release after people had paid for it on one platform. But for the most part they are already paid, and on the biggest selling platforms for this game, consoles, the game is STILL selling.

Plus is this even news? We already knew this game was coming to SteamOS in fall, and it doesn't mean the re-release on windows will take until then.

What I would love, since they might work on it for a month or so, is that they push out a DX12 update, since DX12 is likely to be launched by the time they fix this enough for a re-release. (note: that doesn't mean they can't release patches for those who have the game already... just overall they need to reach a threshold to re-release it, and that should include a DX12 patch. They definitely should put out patches in the meantime.)

Overall if they give a DX12 patch, add in the missing features, and give us some free DLC, that would be a good step forward. While it won't change the mess-up they did with this game, it would engender a feeling that at least Rocksteady will stand behind it's games and make it right... with the hope that this is a powerful lesson for them in the future.

How can you even do that when so many ppl already have it. Wtf! I thought that a fix was found for framerate.

Erik73573998d ago

Well, even if this port sucks...I got it for 28 bucks and I am glad I will still be able to play it on my PC. Kinda crazy that it will be all the way to fall until its sold on PC again. I'm expecting it to run well and to have better graphics to reward the pc gamers for patience. I remember Batman Arkham City looked amazing on PC compared to consoles. A shame this one is so bad.

"Delayed To Fall 2015"

This makes no sense. This is the 3rd game to involve PlayStation priority development. How much are they offering for these priority deals?

Not even Microsoft practices this. The pc versions of D4, and Ori were not affected by any exclusive deals of Xbox.

porkChop3998d ago

Uh, what? This has nothing to do with PlayStation. The game was recalled because the PC version is a complete mess and does not work properly.

Bathyj3998d ago

Can you get me that bag of chips off the high shelf, as long as youre reaching.

3998d ago
DevilOgreFish3998d ago (Edited 3998d ago )

Oh please. The Batman series has been running on the same engine for over 6 years. and now all of sudden this? sony's been offering a priority clause to these developers which also made Mortal kombat X, and appeared on stage first on playstation. Sony also did the same with CD projekt.

2pacalypsenow3998d ago (Edited 3998d ago )

Lol only the pc version is broken because they outsourced it , sony didn't make them do a crappy port .

The Xbox 1 version works fine ,just not as good as ps4 for technical reason of the Xbox 1

ocelot073998d ago

I have seen some delusional comments on here but wow this is the worst.

You do know Sony has had marketing deals with the last few all the Batman Arkham games. The previous ones have been done very well on PC.

Assassin's Creed Unity was broken on PC and Microsoft had the marketing deal for that. Does that mean Microsoft gave the orders to make the PC version run like crap? No they didn't.

The problem is RockStady got lazy or didn't have the man power to focus on all versions. So out sourced the PC version to a small studio who by the looks of it messed up big time.

If anyone is to blame point the finger at RockStady. It is Alian Colonial Marines all over again at least for the PC version. Or was Colonel Marines Sony's fault as well?

Ceaser98573613998d ago

you got to be kidding me.. What has Sony got to do with this.. I can name you a list of games which performed better on PC regardless which ever consoles it tied up with.. probably you're new to this but Sony or Ms partners with third party devs for marketing and not production. Get your facts checked. If what you say was true then the game would have been messed up on Xbox1 too.. Console least cares about PC , it has always been PS vs Xbox

"I have seen some delusional comments on here but wow this is the worst. "

Stopped reading after that. N4G goes far beyond with it's dumb articles, and it's followers somehow grants them immunity.

Delayed To Fall 2015? give me a break. It is obvious there was a priority deal that was taken place. after the game ships suddenly they forgot they didn't have enough developers to finish the game on pc? they were under contract and busy prioritizing.

And as for AC: Unity it was the exact same thing. they took money in exchange for the prioritizing. Of course they're not going to just admit to that.

wouldn't be surprised at all by this announcement.

This is my own video, that I captured.
And it goes to show just how much work they have to do.

aquamala3998d ago

the release date for "SteamOS,Mac and Linux" have always been Fall 2015, Windows is not on that list.

Wait, what? They are recalling the game on PC?

Vegamyster3998d ago

They pulled it off Steam but those that bought it and didn't get a refund can still play it, also you can still buy keys from other sites to active the game.

JamesBroski3998d ago

They can still "play" it :D

Hummm... fall 2015?
What a f*** up! Guess my PC version is totally useless.

If I find a cheap ass 2nd hand Batman PS4 version game, might give it a go. No way in hell I'm paying these developers for a new game. They won't receive any money from me, not now nor in the future.

From now on only purchase 2nd hand games from Warner Bros ... thank God consoles allow 2nd hand games :)

skulz73998d ago

I don't blame Rocksteady per say seeing as their Batman games are great. However, it was a stupid decision giving the PC port to an unexperienced external company.

fermcr3998d ago (Edited 3998d ago )

Warner Bros is to blame and partially Rocksteady for allowing this to happen.

Warner Bros are becoming worse then Ubisoft.
Their previous game, Mortal Kombat X, was also a piece of crap PC port.

Like I said, from my part, I will never again buy a full priced game from Warner Bros. Only purchase 2nd hand console games or dirt cheap games from Steam sales.

Honestly, Warner Bros can go f*** themselves for all I care.

OhMyGandhi3998d ago (Edited 3998d ago )

I blame Rocksteady, Warner Bros, and Iron Galaxy. Warner Bros has the final say, and it's their fault for not checking in with Iron Galaxy to ensure that the game is up to anyone's standards. I also blame Rocksteady because I find it hard to believe that they knew NOTHING just because they were so focused on the PS4/XBONE editions of the game..Don't they have a project director, and does that person talk to whoever is leading Iron Galaxy's execution of the game? or is like some hollywood hit man styled film, where each person represents themselves, knows of none one else, and has secret meetings with a single higher up to obtain contract details?

ginsunuva3998d ago

Not only did you skip the article, you didn't even read the whole title.

It says STEAMOS, MAC, and LINUX.

Windows version is still on its way, probably soon.

ThichQuangDuck3998d ago

Hire some Modders to make a working copy. Arkham Knight coming this fall by that time the "game of the year" edition will be out

We hand-picked the 20 best Steam Deck games under $10 in the Steam Autumn Sale, up to 95% off

I would also add Risk of Rain 2 as long as you don't stray too far from a power source as each run can be long as the hours melt away. Another thing to note is that based on the reports, the FPS may drop into the 40s if a lot of enemies are on the screen.

There is also the Half Life series. If you haven't played half-life before then you can do so now at the super low price.

cthulhucultist551d ago

Mafia was amazing looking and had a great story. Played flawlessly at 30fps as well without dips 99% of the time.

The same is true for Jedi Fallen Order

Sony games as also on sale. Picked up Rachet and Clank, cant wait to try it!
