how can SONY of all people talk about ripping off people? SEGA and NINTENDO were around LONG before sony...... didn't SEGA have the 1st two CD based consoles? (Mega CD and SEGA saturn) didn't nintendo have the first analog pad? (N64 pad) didn't nintendo have rumble 1st? (N64 pad again) everybody borrows other ideas from the competition, its funny how microsoft are accused of ripping off yet PSN now has in game messageing (a rip off of a microsoft idea) ps3 now has trophys (ripping off 360's achievement system) and theres possibly gonna be listening to your own fave music in game (although microsoft have the copyright for that so sony will have to pay royalties)... in conclusion i love it when sony fanboys accuse the competition of RIPPING THEM OFF when thats all that sony have done for the 14 years that they have been in the gaming business

Well there is truth there MS were the only ones with a groundbreaking announcement (even if FFXIII is still coming to PS3).

When you look at nintendo conference....actually lets not look it. Sony on the other hand spent about 3/4 of the time talking abuot the PS2 and PSP which im sure most people dont really care about. E3 is meant to be when you annoucnce your biggest offerings you have and if thats a CG trailer of MAG then Sony are slacking off...BIG TIME, especially when you consider all the internal studios they have compared to the others

Sony doesnt really have an interesting line-up for this fall/winter, and Nintendo has been slacking off for many many years now, starting with the N64 and later the Cube, and now the Wii.

Hopefully, Sony will have a good showing at the TGS, and TBH I have pretty much given up hope on Nintendo. They just cater to a completely different market right now. One which I'm personally not very interested in.

Because Microsoft announced so many new games at E3 right? Every time I hear a Microsoft executive open their mouths, you can almost hear the fear in their voices. Their biggest claim to fame at E3 is re-announcing a multiplatform game. Honestly, to me it sounds like Microsoft is just scared and telling anyone who will listen that they are "better than Sony".

Well, I guess they better get their story out their while they can, because a year from now no one will be there to listen.

Sony, with their lack of games and higher price point, have been dominating Microsoft for some time now in sales.

It's only a matter of time before that less than 5 million lead is less than 2.5 million and that less than 2.5 million is 1 million and that 1 million is 1 million behind.

Once again we see the difference in PR approaches from the companies -Microsoft are always ready to take fire at the competition, but the competition very rarely fires back and simply talks about its own strategy.

I love the 360. But I do despise MS and its strategy's and approaches to the media - I did before they entered the games business and nothing has changed since.
I should say though that is only at the top level. I've Worked closely with MS game studios on several projects and at that level they are a joy to work with and very supportive to developers..

I've seen people call E3 lots of ways, as you'd expect, but to claim to show you are 'innovative' based on what they showed is a bit rich.
Where? The two big exclusives core games are both no 2 (Gears 2 Fable2) and just about everything else was derivative of something done by others first. I loved the dash update, but you can't say you haven't seen it in vista... Avatars are necessary but they were copied exactly from Mii's instead of developing a style of their own. Many games were direct copies of titles on other platforms like Singstar, Eye Toy and Buzz, and the biggest excitement they generated was by getting a port of another systems title.

Good or bad, you can call their show any way you want, but innovative it was not. A bit more real innovation is what I want to see!! :)

In my opinion this just makes microsoft look bad the way they are bashing sony lately. If Microsoft has to talk shyt about other companies that just means that their scared. They shouldnt have to say anything if there system was really that good

It's not a surprise to us at SONY that they'd act this way. It's simply in their nature. MS has always used "shock&awe" techniques to buy their way into the minds of consumers. In your face action, glitz and big shows of explosions, and of course their personal favorite trick: lies. The higher ups at SONY guard their secrets closely, as they know the true quality and value of their products to come. MS, in their live-in-the-moment mentality, will strike out when SONY lays quiet, using attacks such as these (SONY are "on vacation") but rest assured things are not "quiet" on the inside. Things are being prepared, HUGE things, prepared to execute and carry out our plan for the long haul. Jack Tretton recently touched on this plan in an interview, and I can assure you they mean to carry it out.

While MS gave all they had at their big E3 blowout (may I mentioned buying a former PS3 exclusive to make up for their poor lineup of 08 games) the higherups at SONY chose to lay low and only give you a small dose. We have other, more important things to come, so we let MS use all their cards first. So as I said, it's no surprise they'd resort to saying something like this.

Personally I think all 3's E3 shows were a bit lame.

Nintendo-- showed an attachement to make the wii mote as accurate as it should have been to start with

M$oft-- showed a bunch of rip offs, and FF13, a third party port that will only be out on 360 in europe and america, not japan where the game will sell best,

Sony-- movie store, which although nice in theory, has just angered europe and asia as they cant have it yet, God of war 3, well we all new about that 1 anyway. No big news on home.

And as for sony not working hard, i dissagree, at least they are getting first party stuff and new IP's, unlike MS. what have they done that is new or exclusive to the 360, really?

sonys on vacation? i have about 600$ saved up for all the games im buying from nov-december then another 400$ just for the start of next year o.o oh well 1000$ speant on good gaming, but hey ebay is amazing for resale and i always do that at like 45$ a piece +2 in shipping so it aint bad at all and the next guy can enjoy =) i doubt ill be selling any of the multiplayer games i still got R1 =)

they didnt really deliver any jaw dropping announcements just extended detail on stuff you already know about.I cant wait to get resistance for my PSP tho.I sold my PS3 to buy a 3G Iphone so my main console is my Xbox 360 and in my opinion MS had the best press conference at e3.They had actual gameplay of Gears Of War 2,Fable 2,Fallout 3 & RE 5.They showed a total new dashboard (dont really like it tho).They announced Netlix on Xbox Live and they showed some Banjo Kazooie.I think MS was the best at E3.

Well Sony does have brand appeal plus the Blu-Ray victory is helping sell the PS3 then you got MGS4. I like my PS3 but them two points are helping Sony sell alot of PS3's quite quickly and Sony has been in the console war or whatever you want to call it for some time now compared to MS, now for the copying part everyone does it, MS, Sony and Nintendo.

Could that be because the $905m cost of RROD, Millions spent stealing games instead of making new 1's, Having new ideas then just turned into copying the others. There Losing the respect of all real gamers and people who have a brain cell. There so desperate now there even gonna drag Halo out for a 4th time!! Even tho halo 2 and halo 3 were so overhyped they ended up being dog sh!t. Wake up kids and buy a console that has respect for it's consumers and isn't out PURELY to grab as much money as it can.

Uh, Microsoft had been slacking off since the console released, thats why so many people have red rings of death. Xbox 360 also has no good games after this year anymore. Microsoft also slacking off with innovation with their happy sunshine interface of an XMB and their mii-rip off as well as their singstar rip-off. E3 was crappy for all the consoles but E3 doesn't count $hit anymore anyways, nothing to be proud of.
