Sony Won E3, But Not 2015

Garrett from The Koalition writes:

During the weeks leading to E3, I had the impression that Microsoft would win the show and Sony might be reaching for whatever weapon happened to be closest to its hand. Judging the excitement channeling through the audience, Sony hyped the audience as much, if not more so, as Microsoft had and for good reason: the revival of The Last Guardian and the confirmation of the Final Fantasy 7 remake rekindled the passions of nostalgic gamers, and closing the show with Uncharted 4, while expected, created a lasting impression.

PistolsAtDawn3983d ago (Edited 3983d ago )

It's not that people haven't seen that list a million times, it's that most of those games aren't interesting to most gamers. You can stop copy and pasting that now

Get_A_Job_Foxtrot3983d ago (Edited 3983d ago )

So what is interesting to gamers? More Halo, Forza, FPS, bro-dude, dorito, high-five-slapping western trash?

Please help me to understand

NewMonday3983d ago

@PistolsAtDawn
that's for the market to decide, and many of these games have dedicated followings, and most from divers genres so they don't overlap.

bottom line the claim about X1 holiday advantage is simply false, in fact PS4 has the advantage with marketing rights for big 3rd party games.

raggy-rocket3983d ago (Edited 3983d ago )

'Western trash' 'Dudebro'

You're pathetic and desperate. If that's the case take your typical stereotypical cheeky adventurer and some older man to 'banter' with in uncharted along with your teen with beanie who gets superpowers of infamous and your sci fi future killzone and your fast paced racing games and gtfo

If anything's trash, it's something with the name 'Deception IV: The nightmare princess' or 'Onechanbara Z2 '. In fact, by your logic, take your 'konichiwa cute girls and silent characters and magic dragons and over the top fantasy TRASH and shove it'

IN FACT, None of it's trash, but your point was invalidated by your blatantly bitter and desperate attempts to attack anyone who disagrees with you

Nirvana315913983d ago (Edited 3983d ago )

Good thing about PS4 is there's something for everyone

Fall 2015 PS4 exclusives and console exclusives

RPG
Persona 5
Tales of Zesteria
Disgaea 5
Dragon Quest Heroes

Action / Adventure
Uncharted collection

Exploration / Adventure
Firewatch
No man's sky
Everybody's gone to the rapture

Platforming games
Tearaway Unfolded

Horror
Until Dawn
SOMA

Action / Strategy
Dungeon defenders 2

While Xbox One is relying on a timed TR, a gears remaster and another Halo

Pogmathoin3983d ago (Edited 3983d ago )

So, you consider uncharted 4 western thrash too?

Lol, Mike.... Tomb Raider is stale because it's on Xbox now? And the many sequels on PS are fresh?

Rimeskeem3983d ago (Edited 3983d ago )

Another thing that interests me is that there are loads of multiplatform games as well.

Fallout 4, Black Ops 3, Battlefront, Mad Max, Rainbow 6 Siege, etc....

Yes they are not exclusives but that doesn't mean PS4 owners can't enjoy them. I personally like that Sony has their big exclusives coming out early next year. Gives me time to play all the other games.

Crimzon3983d ago

Well with smash hits such as Onechanbara Z2 and J-Stars Victory Vs+, it looks like those of us with PS4s are in for one truly spectacular 2015. I can barely contain my excitement.

mikeslemonade3983d ago (Edited 3983d ago )

The thing is Sony didn't show everything at E3. There may be a few games coming out in the fall of 2015.

Also if you own all platforms the PS4 still wins. Since I play all the multiplats on PC. PS4 still has more intersting exclusives.

Gears, Halo, and Tomb Raider I will not buy. Those games are too stale. Just like how pop music gets overplayed. These franchises are overplayed.

DanteVFenris6663983d ago (Edited 3983d ago )

@crimzon don't know if being sarcastic are not but America is becoming bigger and bigger into the japenese culture. It's changed from where anime lovers where the outisiders to your weird if you don't like it. Anime has a ginormous following now with over 50 series produced annually. Crunchy roll making it even more popular. Even though I dislike microsoft and Xbox, if they had a berserk anime exclusive game Id pay 1 grand for that. These are how much anime lovers love their favourote franchises. J stars being a collection of 20 or so of the most popular series. It's going to sell big as long as word of it hasn't been forgotten

zsquaresoff3983d ago (Edited 3983d ago )

I would really like to know how you know what most gamers want?

Do any research or its just some made up fact that you pulled out from your backside.

ZeroX98763983d ago

The article doesn't mention any previously released title in 2015 like bloodborne and The Order. 2015 isn't just from June to December.

PS4:
Killing Floor 2
N++
Sword Art Online: Lost Song
Tales of Zestiria
Dragon Quest Heroes
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection
Tearaway Unfolded
J-Stars Victory VS
Magicka 2
MLB 15: The Show
Bloodborne
The Order: 1886
Grim Fandango Remastered
Wattam
Until Dawn
The Tomorrow Children
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3
Helldivers
Broforce
Fat Princess Adventures

X1 has an awesome lineup too:
Halo 5: Guardians
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Neverwinter
State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition
Ori and the Blind Forest
Screamride
Happy Wars
Superhot
Cuphead

I know I missed a few of them, but those are mostly timed/console/Pure exclusive titles. I think 2015 was a good year for both systems, plenty to game on and that's not even including multi platform titles :)

Griever3983d ago (Edited 3983d ago )

I agree that most of those games do not have a mass appeal and do not sell millions but games like Disgaea, Persona, Dragon Quest and Tales have a significant or at least cult followings. Those fans have to buy the PS4 to play those games so they are contributing to the hardware and software sales for Sony.

I acknowledge that Xbox is releasing much bigger and high profile exclusives games this year but what about next year and the year after that? People wont be getting Halo 6 or Forza 7 or Gears 5 anytime soon. On the other hand, PS4 owners will still have Uncharted 4, Gran Turismo and God of War to look forward to. It is basically a matter of discretion. Some fire their guns early and run out of ammo quicker while others fire them slowly and make their ammo last longer. The same thing happened last gen when Xbox 360 ran out of exclusive ammo just a few year after the gen started. By that time we were getting articles stating that exclusives do not matter or PS3 has TOO MANY exclusives... :-/ As long as there are games coming, it does not matter what year they release. The end/net result is the same; we end up with the same number of games.

Finally, people buy a console according to the library it offers in the long term. For example, I want to play Persona, Uncharted, Star Ocean, Horizon and JRPGs. So I have no choice but to buy a PS4 regardless of when those games release. People who want to play Halo, Gears, Forza will buy an Xbox at all costs. It is simple as that.

Haru3983d ago

@raggy-rocket

I would take a cheeky adventurer and some older man or a teen with beanie anyday over some mutated freak wearing a weird green armour who has a crush on an AI girl that isn't even real or some stupid girl wanna be be a hero thatkeeps moaning at every step she takes like she's horny desperate but guess each has his opinion :)

AngelicIceDiamond3983d ago (Edited 3983d ago )

@Nirvana Gears Of War Remaster and Rare replay.

Two remasters. Halo 5, Forza 6 and Rise Of The Tombraider. Flagship AAA titles.

Ashen
Gigantic
The Solus Project
Ion
Cuphead
Beyond Eyes
Tacoma
Phantasmal: City Of Darkness
Unit 8
Elite Dangerous
SMITE
World Of Tanks
Superhot
Space Engineers
Happy Dungeon

Gigantic, Elite Dangerous, World Of Tanks, SMITE and Beyond Eyes are coming out this year.

In total: Gears Of War remaster, Rare Replay, Halo 5, Tombraider, Forza 6, SMITE, Elite Dangerous, WOT, Gigantic and Beyond Eyes.

MMO to MOBA's to AAA's shooters, Action Adventure, to racing, space simulation and remasters. Which you forgot to put GoW remaster. MS is really lacking in JRPG's righ now.

You can't simply list those games at the same time pass up MS indie to mid-indies. Or other varieties of games hitting the platform as well.

I notice allllot of people have been doing that. Always ignoring other games hitting the Xbox and yet list their's like they're more important for whatever reason.

iTechHeads3983d ago

Why aren't they interesting to most gamers? Because they don't sell well?
Well if we're talking sales, PS4 is going to win every single year. Not only worldwide but also in the US.

PS4 will be the BEST place to play this years biggest games. Batman, Metal Gear, BO3, Battlefront....etc. Sony absolutely dominated the Xbox One this year in terms of third party partnerships, which means perks for PS4 owners.

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen3983d ago

@PistolsAtDawn

The list of upcoming 2015 games for the PS4 dwarfs any other list of upcoming games on any other CONSOLE. That is a fact!

medman3983d ago

@pistolsatdawn
I would argue that it's best Sony doesn't have any of it's tent pole exclusives coming this fall, considering the mash up of multiplats incoming that are seriously going to be competing for gamers dollars and time. With the likes of Star Wars Battlefront, Metal Gear Solid V, Fallout 4, Black Ops III, Assassin's Creed, etc. etc., it's already too crowded.

In fact, I would argue Microsoft has made a severe miscalculation in selecting Nov. 10th for Tomb Raider, which is less than 2 weeks after the launch of Halo 5, and on the same day as Fallout, and 1 week before Battlefront! Yikes!

Army_of_Darkness3983d ago

Don't forget, Sony has marketing deals for Batman AK, next COD, Destiny and star wars battle front if exclusives for this year weren't enough.

SourtreeDing3983d ago

PS4 is the Console to be at this holiday.. dont gte me wrong Xbox has ther exclusives.. but PS4 has everything else and more genres

im sure if Xbox exclusives were small titles no one would be talking about it... but since halo is in the Lineup... this means Xbox wins lol

Gazondaily3983d ago

Sony themselves admit that 2015 is a bit bleak but the PR team on here simply won't stop. Its actually frustrating.

blitz06233983d ago

And as Phil Spencer said - this is a Marathon not a Sprint.

MRMagoo1233983d ago

http://n4g.com/news/1745297...

This article right here proves the PS4 has more coming than any other console in 2015 and has already had more than the others already

Spotie3983d ago

How the hell is that comment well said? Most of the list isn't interesting to most gamers?

What list is?

Answer: NONE.

But that doesn't matter. The point is that there's something on the list that appeals to almost everybody. And in many cases, more than one something.

So many people trying to downplay the PS4's lineup like it's not interesting, then praising the same damn lineup of games Xbox has had for the past six years or so.

But if that lineup wasn't enough to keep the 360 on top- as shown by more gamers buying the PS3 and Wii- how the hell do you guys think the next iteration in those same few franchises is gonna appeal to more people on XB1?

This is stupid. This is truly and utterly stupid.

Spotie3983d ago

@Septic: Keep spinning. House was speaking specifically about first party releases. Not exclusives.

What is it with Xbox fans and trying to twist what people say?

Gazondaily3982d ago (Edited 3982d ago )

@Spotie

I'm talking about first party too

Mr_Luke3982d ago

@PistolsAtDawn

"it's that most of those games aren't interesting to most gamers"

No, completely wrong....

"it's that most of those games aren't interesting to Xbox One fanboys"
/fixed

There's a bit of everything in that list, a bit for everyone. But i guess if it was an "Xbone only" list it would be magical, fantastic, super power, something never seen. Bah...

Azale3982d ago

@Pogmathoin At least their studios know how to end a series rather than continue milking it. Really looking forward to Naughty Dogs' new project after Uncharted finishes, Guerilla already has a new IP, Media Molecule too. I could go on, meanwhile I'm sure we'll get a glimpse of Halo: [Spin-off] next year, and GOW: Judgement 2, oh and lets not forget about Forza Horizon 3. I wont say too much about the racer as all racers are repetitive (IMHO).

Also. How have they not won 2015 when they currently have the highest rated next gen exclusive?

November + December doesn't equal 2015.

@gangster.

Says who? They showed their games again at the e3 conference. The crowd was hardly going wild.

I also doubt Halo 5 or Tr will score higher than bloodborne.

@Pogmathoin

The last guardian, Uncharted and Horizon are releasing in 2016. How does that have anything to do with E3 2017?

gangsta_red3983d ago

It does when those games are more anticipated.

NewMonday3983d ago

@gangsta_red

most anticipated games are all 3rd party, Fallout and Battlefront

Pogmathoin3983d ago

Will the crowd go wild at E3 2017 when games announced are shown again? Who cares.... I have seen a few 'opinion' articles on why BC is not good, from the usual super trolls here, yet one 'opinion' article like this, not exactly Pro PS4, and look at the bother it causes you lot.... Hilarious....

tinynuggins3982d ago

No way horizon releases in 2016, let's be real here.

Sayai jin3982d ago

Sony has stated themselves that there remaining 2015 1st party games library is rather "sparse".

That's doesn't mean that there are still some really good games that will come out, because they do have some good games still to come this year.

With that said, are people really doing to state differently than Sony themselves.

Lior3983d ago

Sony does not really have any big western games coming out that are really popular except uncharted collection and the rest are multi plats

GamerGT3983d ago

@NewMonday
And I see The Tomorrow Children is coming Autumn 2015 as well.

freshslicepizza3983d ago

i must have missed the no mans sky release date. can you give me that info please?

NewMonday3983d ago

mistake on that one sorry

divinealpha3983d ago

Half of these games are coming out for pc, and your making that list like those are exclusives lol.

divinealpha3983d ago

Most of those are coming to pc so how about you shorten that list to actually sony exclusives.

Chevalier3983d ago

They're going to 'win' units sold worldwide and top software sales for third party releases. So doubt they Will lose.

CYCLEGAMER3982d ago

@newmonday
So I guess my cell phone has more exclusives/better games because I have exclusives like candy crush, and Granny Smith?

I know you and a few others may love these games but cut the crap. When we think of big exclusives, exclusives that push the hardware most people including the industry never counted those types of games. If we are going to consider those games in the list of exlusives, we must first admit that the xbox 360 had more exclusives than the ps3, due to the amount of indies/arcade games it had over the ps3. But no one wants to recognize that right??

The truth is that Sony will be lacking in big exclusives for the rest of the year just like MS has lacked for the beginning of this year.

Stop trying to use this weak @$$ list as a scapegoat or excuse for Sony's lack of big exclusives. Those games on that list are very niche. Don't try to change the standard now.

NewMonday3982d ago

majority of the list are retail games, non 2D, many franchises

WilDRangeRfc3982d ago

MS showed 20 Indies at E3 Sony showed 5 so MS list plus exclusives would look like yours, what the hell are half of those games, sound like F2P Android games

Azzanation3982d ago

You have completely misunderstood this article. Sure PS4 has games and good games coming in 2015 however its competitor has block busters, serveral of them releasing this year. Theres a huge difference between a good game and a block buster game. Sony won E3 based on future content while Xbox won 2015 based off its releases this year. To be honest with you, Sonys best games on that list are PS3 remasters compared to actual sequels that no one has ever played before. Just because its Halo doesn't mean its the same game.

This holiday is another Xbox dominated holiday because it has must have games releasing. I am sure 2016 will be different but you cant compare that Sonys list to MS because quality > quantity everytime.

BallsEye3982d ago (Edited 3982d ago )

where are the AAAs? Most of those are really low budget indies (ps2 level, i mean come on http://cdn4.dualshockers.co... ) nd some won't even come out anywhere other than Japan. I think sony letting Yu Suzuki go on stage to ask for kickstarter money for Shenmue was embarassing, for sony. They should fund the tite, not let people go on stage to beg fans for cash.

NerdStalker3982d ago (Edited 3982d ago )

You can run your mouth on here all you want about how you think sony letting Yu Suzuki go on stage to ask for kickstarter money for Shenmue was embarrassing, but guess who the winners are the playststion owners we're getting Shenmue 3 and your not so what you got to say about that.

Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain
Destiny The Taken King
Rainbow Six Seige
Assassin's Creed Syndicate
Need for Speed
Black Ops 3
Fallout 4
Just Cause 3
Battlefront 3
Hitman

At $60 each, I think Sony will be fine with multi-platform games this Fall(They did pretty well the last 2 years). I'm already having trouble deciding the games I can buy. I'm okay with the exclusives we got for PS4 this year (The Order 1886, Bloodborne, Until Dawn, Tearaway Unfolded, Uncharted Nathan Drake's Collection) .

2016 will be crazy with Uncharted 4, Street Fighter 5, Horizon, and The Last of Guardian. :)

CaptainObvious8783982d ago (Edited 3982d ago )

This is actually an amazing strategy by sony. Release exclusives throughout the year then let the big boy multiplats battle it out for attention in the holiday season.

I, the gamer, get games mostly evenly spread out through the whole year, and Sony gets extra sales when they release their exclusives from the lack of competition.

I'm honestly going to be too busy with MGS, Just Cause 3 and Fallout 4 to be worried about too much else anyway.

Jedislayer3983d ago

Who care's who won. It was a dang good show from both Ms and sony

MegaSackman3983d ago

I really think that MS had a good presentation and I thought that Sony would struggle to keep up... but then madness happened. Still a good show for MS, therefore, gamers.

lxlkuyaboilxl3983d ago

There are more than enough games for people to play this year regardless of what platform you're on.

I finally moved on from Bloodborne to play The Witcher 3 on my PC. Arkham Knight is just around the corner as well.

Hit up that back log and enjoy what's available to you. 2015 is a great year and 2016 sounds like it'll be even better.

nemrawy3983d ago

Well so far they are winning sales wise ;)

MasterCornholio3983d ago

Well yeah that's what Sony cares about the most. And it's not like we don't have any good games to play during the holidays whether exclusive or multiple.

I believe that's what some people choose to ignore.

Pogmathoin3983d ago

Beavis, you know there is no place for that kind of sensible thinking here. At this stage of the game, is it to hard to simply enjoy the games? You'd swear it was a playground here....

averagejoe263983d ago (Edited 3983d ago )

Sony outsells Microsoft tremendously but somehow they aren't winning 2015?

What is winning if not dominating the market?

So now we'll say a company "won" even though they got devastated in sales?

I've had PlayStation and Xbox consoles my whole life, not a fanboy...but these xbots are ridiculous

Literally delusional to the point of trying any argument whatsoever, even if it makes no sense, to make it seem like the Xbox is "winning."

n4rc3983d ago

Kinda like ripping on old franchises but praise their own?

Or ripping mutliplat games but praising their own..

Bitching about release dates then happy as a clam when their game has no date at all..

Its amazing the difference perspective can make..

CaptainObvious8783982d ago (Edited 3982d ago )

Kinda like saying indies are trash then praising their own?

Kind like saying PS4 has no games and then congratulating MS on their release schedule for the year when they've barely released anything and not a single AAA retail so far?

Kinda like praising sales and then flip flopping and saying sales don't matter?

Kinda like praising exclusives and then flip flopping and saying exclusives don't matter?

Kinda like saying graphics matter and then flip flopping and saying graphics don't matter?

I could go on for a while.

The sony have their fair share of fanboys, but MS fanboys are by far the most hypocritical and dishonest.

You're right though, its amazing the difference perspective can make.

Microsoft Gaming Revenue Drops 7% Year-on-Year, Content and Services Down 5%, Xbox Hardware Down 33%

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio14d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing14d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9214d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit14d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing14d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9214d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse

Xbox boss: Memory crisis could impact next-gen hardware pricing

Xbox boss Asha Sharma has discussed how component shortages will impact the company's plans for Project Helix.

gamedeveloper.com
Eonjay16d ago

When does this end? Its killing everyone. Consoles and PC. And for what? AI? The benefits of AI are completely outweighed by the negatives. And the government should have never allowed one company to buy up all the RAM.

Lexreborn217d ago

This kind of proves this is an after thought product, most products like this are in r&d 5 years before they start mass producing. So they typically have the cost of components and things worked out long before assembly starts.

This is an assumption still, but I wouldn’t be surprised if project helix is similar to Scalebound, perfect dark and sod3. They had an idea but no actual execution other than concept stage. Being impacted by the ram shortage likely would also put this device 3-4 years out.

I’m not even sure MS has that endurance with Xbox yet

Fishy Fingers17d ago (Edited 17d ago )

I mean.... what?

We're at a point that Samsung wont even provide their own phone department ram because they can sell it at higher prices to 3rd parties (AI). Its more profitable to sell the ram than make their own devices with it.

You think because R&D starts 5 years ago the 3rd party component manufacturers will honour that price? They'll sell it to whomever is paying the most today, not some gentlemens agreement they made years ago. AI farms will buy more volume at higher prices than any console manufacturer will. It'll be the same for Playstation.

Lexreborn216d ago

Contractual agreements are not the same as “gentlemen” agreements. If you think that they work with their distributors a month before production then their entire business model is trash. They work with companies like nvidia constantly for building the graphics cards they need. They work with companies that build motherboards years in advance. This is what proper business planning does.

They are not buying components on a whim like a consumer. So again, considering the ram isn’t a singular module and is integrated into the motherboard I highly doubt they wouldn’t have a final schematic that they are supposed to be building around.

If they are delaying production another 3 years then it’s obvious again this is an after though project and is just trying to be responsive to their bad execution they had the last 14 years.

It also isn’t far fetched to use their failure to produce first party titles the last 7 years including the highly anticipated games I mentioned all being cancelled. That they would continue to you know… lie

Sitdown16d ago

You don't really know how this works huh?

Profchaos17d ago (Edited 17d ago )

Helix is going to be stupidly expensive

Instead of leaning into smarter upscaling techniques they're brute forcing hardware that will cost them dearly and it remains to be seen if it's genuinely going to provide a meaningful differential

I know in the oc.doace people like to brag about not using frame gen or dlss to get to high on a game but for the majority of players they happily use those technologies without a second thought

That's going to be ps6 vs Helix

Eonjay16d ago

Yeah with FSR 5 they should be able to offer a much cheaper version of Helix.

Eonjay16d ago

While this does seem to be the case, I am encouraged by the statement from Microsoft about wanting to provide affordable options. If this means a Series S style Helix, at least there will be something affordable being offered.

XBManiac16d ago

Series S is what has killed Xbox Series so... Will they dare?

blacktiger17d ago

It's called systematic inflationary. Yes we get it Microsoft, keep raising in the name ofall kinds of stuffs

pwnmaster300017d ago

Honestly if there was thing I learned from this generation is that new consoles arnt day one anymore.
I can wait 1-3 years.

DarXyde16d ago

Another important lesson from this generation: while Nintendo showed us that prices don't necessarily need to ever drop, we've now learned that waiting 1-3 years does carry some risk that prices increase. This generation is just bizarre in all the wrong ways.

LucasRuinedChildhood16d ago (Edited 16d ago )

The factors are largely external. Covid and Russia-Ukraine war causing inflation led to the first price increase in 2022.

Then we get Trump's tariffs increasing hardware prices, AI boom causing a RAM crisis, war on Iran causing a worldwide fuel crisis which impacts the cost of everything.

Gaming doesn't exist in a vacuum. The last few years have been a shitshow and lot of it was definitely avoidable.

DarXyde16d ago

LucasRuinedChildhood,

For sure. No disagreement on the external factors doing a lot of this. Where I have to gently push back however is on two fronts:

1. The pandemic definitely caused some issues: asynchronous development was a big issue and really complicated timelines and affected game quality. At the same time, when it comes to price hikes, it's really difficult to know what was genuine necessity and what was taking consumers for a ride. The pandemic brought about "stag-flation" which was increasing prices and stagnant wages, which was a problem caused by supply chain constraints. There was also "Greed-flation", where companies that were slightly affected or had no issues took advantage of the situation and squeezed everyone citing supply chain issues when there were none.

2. It's definitely true that the tariffs, AI boom, and RAM crisis were all things enabled by tech broligarchs throwing money at this caricature of a world leader, one of them being Satya Nadella. I don't think Sony and Nintendo have contributed much to this problem if at all, but Microsoft's Nadella I feel was instrumental in causing every one of those issues. Microsoft as a company contributed to both candidates (though they gave Harris 4x as much if I recall), but Nadella was all in on letting AI run wild. He paid for unregulated AI, and got a war that's not a war (even though Trump called it that at least five times on television) that screwed up helium access. So for me, I feel that one of the players in the gaming industry is a key architect of these issues, and for that reason I struggle a bit to think of it as "external".

A good start would be to release games to go with the console. My Xbox Series X has gathered dust virtually from launch. My advice would be to ditch a next console and release games on PC, PlayStation and Switch. Another idea would be a hybrid console based on Xbox Series X tech and go the same route as Nintendo. Another idea would be to pull out of gaming altogether. Plenty of options there.

Why would they pull out? They have the momentum. Sony has been getting nothing but bad news lately.
