Poor Microsoft. TechnoBuffalo really thought Microsoft had done everything right this year to bring home the gold. Microsoft announced a new franchise from the creator of Mega Man. Microsoft showed nothing but wonderful games and acknowledged the importance of backwards compatibility. Microsoft even had that mind-melting Hololens demonstration, which is admittedly the coolest thing we’ve still seen over the last two days.
However, in regards to the actual games we’ll be able to play on our PlayStation 4s, Sony dismantled Microsoft’s impressive show piece by piece and proved to the world once again why Sony has the number one selling console.

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "While not carrying the same heft it enjoyed long ago, last year was one of the adventure genre's most commercially-successful years in this century. A Telltale-esque adventure eclipsing 3 million sales in three months would be the talk of the town were it not for another adventure game hurdling over 10 million sales in two. Though not all finalists reached those heights, each did share a greater amount of spotlight compared to similar titles within their respective sub-genres.
Past any sales thresholds and popularity contests, 2025 also deserves credit for its creativity; the last time our entire shortlist consisted exclusively of new IPs was for Best Adventure Game of 2020. An impressive year for the genre, with even greater potential ahead."

Bandai Namco announced today that its popular flight simulator-lite Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown has passed another sales milestone.

The Outerhaven writes: Bloodborne is still one of PlayStation’s most beloved exclusives, but it remains trapped on PS4. Meanwhile Demon’s Souls got a full PS5 remake. But why?
Demon's Souls was a PS3 game.
Bloodborne is PS4 and can be played on a PS5.
There's no need for a remaster.
Because they're saving that for the PS6 to lure in all the suckers that will think they're making a sequel, but the whole gen will pass by and From won't ever touch it because Song doesn't care for either Demon or Blood outside of remakes.
Because they made them do something else, then they canceled it and who knows what they are doing these days. They dont understand what they have and honestly i dont think they know what they are doing either.
Sorry but no. Microsoft mostly talked about things coming out this year. not next year and beyond like Sony.
What a way to start an artical poor Microsoft nice ;/
I don't agree to be honest... MS nailed this year, promised more at Gamescom and other events that will set them up for the future... has provided backwards compatibility.... has opened up early access on the console... also another VR partnership (although valve are a funny company, they bitch about the consoles then start releasing major stuff on them... i understand money talks but why do the bitching in the first place)
i'm not denying sony did great but if almost everything mentioned this year moved to next year it would have had a better impact i think anyways
Also is FFVII exclusive to sony or just a timed one? reading conflicting reports around the web
FFVII Remake... enough said :D
I think both shows killed it this time round, all we got was games instead of.the usual crap about sales and what have you, it's times like this that I feel sorry for fanboys who limit them selves to one console because of some misguided loyalty, as an owner of both I will have the best.of both worlds and my experience with my gaming will be alot more fulfilled
Both had great shows but Sony showed why they always have a leg up on Microsoft.
It took a slap in the face from Sony to wake up Microsoft in showing why games and exclusives matter.Droughts on 360 and moving all your games to next gen. Then telling gamers if you don't like it,there's always 360 to play with. But if all the new games are getting moved, what do you have to play? Then you got 8 months of droughts on xbox one.It was Microsoft that had to prove to gamers that they cared this fall or cared at all.
See, with Sony, they have proved for generations on game support for the gamer. That's why they get support worldwide today. It's not that games are going to be delayed. They always deliver. What Sony has done at E3 is slap Microsoft in the face 3 ways today:
1:We know Sony has great first party support.Games are releasing ALL YEAR for PS4.There's no need to mention all the ones they didn't show.We know they are coming.Games like Horizon and Bloodborne show it's a non issue for 1st party.
2:Sony slapped Microsoft in the face with all the third party content and marketing Microsoft used to have.No longer a talking point for Microsoft since we now use Bluray.Dvd held us back last gen and let developers sell us held back content I used to get for free from games. And that we knew could fit on one disc. Now the leader,Sony took it.And took COD.
3:And lastly, they slapped Microsoft in the face with all the exclusive announcements like Shenmue 3 and SF5 and FFVIIR,etc. When you announce games that move systems and FUTURE systems, that matters. Not beg them to move up from 360 to buy xbox one with BC because you can't sell systems with unbundled kinect, lowered prices and free games.
Sony has 1st party locked up.They have the best dlc and marketing locked up.And, they have announcements that MATTER that move systems locked up.No need to worry about this fall or at all.
P.S. announcing VR partnerships but NO VR is not WINNING.Maybe when Microsoft wins a generation, they'll know how to lead.Maybe they should ask Nintendo. They know what it's like and can teach as well.
