Introducing Mass Effect: Andromeda

BioWare writes: "Today we debuted the first cinematic trailer for our next game, Mass Effect™: Andromeda. While we are still many months away from the game’s release date in holiday 2016, we’re excited to show you a bit of where we’re at. First, though, some background on the game itself."

Love this game....and its a new story so a fresh start for this generation looks awesome but it wasn't in game. It was in engine, which is better than a cgi trailer.....so I'm happy...this is turning out to be a great e3 so far for all parties. A lot of surprises that weren't leaked.

InTheLab3986d ago

Hopefully they figure out a better way to marry action 3ps with rpg. ME3 was ok but could have been so much better with more rpg elements, better relationship paths, and no pointless horde modes thrown into the single player with microtransactions thrown in your face every minute.

_-EDMIX-_3986d ago

you and I both. I want full open world!

InTheLab3986d ago

I feel like ex0lorable world's should come before that. Most of what goes on happened in remote areas of space so I don't think an open world outside of whatever the space hub will be will make sense...

_-EDMIX-_3986d ago

if you feel just. I wanted some sort of space flight, even if it used some of the relays. Docking station, some sort of full planet (as full as they can make) etc.

But I think I just a bit spoiled by what Star Citizen is suppose to be. A man can dream though lol.

gamer93986d ago

I'm sick of how they are handling this game. They have been ALL TALK for the past year, and they show us ZERO gameplay? What have they been doing for the past year?? And Alistair McNally trash talks Fallout, and then they show us this crap with a release date at least 1.5 years away? What a joke Bioware.

For All Its Flaws, Mass Effect: Andromeda's Approach to Romance is Something ME4 Can Learn From

While Mass Effect: Andromeda was let in several key areas, one of its approaches to romances is something Mass Effect 4 should consider revisiting.

I hope Mass Effect 4 ignores the inferior prequels and instead closely follows the far superior Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age Inquisition.

anast479d ago (Edited 479d ago )

Mass Effect 4 should just make Mass Effect 1 but better with current tech. Fans would be happy. As far as romance, they should take notes from the Witcher and Cyberpunk.

Ristul479d ago

Later Bioware games have to little build up. You can have a normal conversation and all of a sudden BAM! The character you talk to becomes super flirty.

TricksterArrow479d ago

Reminds me of Baldur’s Gate. I wanted to practice some magic and Gale made it super weird. Not even gonna mention Astarion.

gold_drake479d ago (Edited 479d ago )

iii dunno about that.

the only really great and funny dating partner, is that outlaw guy anyways haha he was funny as hell.

other than that, i found every character to be very annoying.

Shout out to Keri the Asari reporter. Current relationship status be damned as she's game either way. Anything for a good story. 🤣

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast521d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine521d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast521d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman521d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast520d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.

it's like bitch but your shirt back on, your not blue or spikey get away from me

BioWare Thinks Mass Effect Andromeda Was Better Game Than Reception Suggested

BioWare thinks Mass Effect: Andromeda was a better game than what reception suggested; taught the studio not to shoehorn open-world without any meaningful content in it.

thorstein556d ago

I played it and it wasn't as bad as people said. Is it in the 8-10 range? No.

It's a 6-7, which means it's a solid game.

LordoftheCritics556d ago (Edited 556d ago )

Veilguard and Andromeda are of similar level to me.
6 to 6.5 ish

Though I think i enjoyed Andromeda's combat and sense of scale a little bit more.

XBManiac555d ago

Veilguard has better graphics.

neutralgamer1992556d ago

I agree with you It was a 6.5 type game. Gameplay was solid everything else was lacking. Playing at launch with all the issues was just absurd. EA could have let the developers keep patching and fix the game but they stopped just like they did with anthem. It’s crazy to think multi billion dollar publishers can’t afford to keeping patching their games get medium size developers can support the game for years

But when you have android wilson running the company what else can we expect.

OtterX556d ago

Except 6-7 doesn't translate as solid. 6 means a bit flimsy, but still good/enjoyable if you can look past the flaws. 7, a little less flimsy, and enjoyable. 8-10 would be "solid".

But I get your point. I skipped the game entirely, so I don't have an opinion on it.

H9556d ago

I played this game back when I wanted to give every game I bought a fair chance and finish it, it was the reason why I stopped doing so, god the game was bad

TheNamelessOne556d ago

I actually enjoyed Andromeda. It wasn't a 10/10, by any means, but I played it years after the fact, after a lot of patching, and I had a good time with it.

anast555d ago

Same, I enjoyed it too. I might even replay it soon.

TheNamelessOne555d ago

Might do the same, honestly. Went through the trilogy a couple months back.

raWfodog555d ago

I liked it as well, and also played it for the first time over a year after it was released. The original trilogy was a better story overall IMO but I still enjoyed Andromeda.

lellkay556d ago

The game is so unbelivably bad, it's laughable.

pwnmaster3000556d ago (Edited 556d ago )

It really wasn’t. Well for me nd I’m a big fan of the series.
Was it mass effect standard? No
But overall I thought it was a decent game.
6-7/10.

Armaggedon555d ago

You might want to try playing a truly bad game. Go boot up two worlds or gollum to get the perspective you need

MatrixxGT555d ago

Wow, two worlds…red ringed my 360.

Armaggedon555d ago

Lol. Its one of the only games that I have experienced buyers remorse with. The only one I can think of is riders Republic.

matt139556d ago

So delusional, the title was an embarrassment to the original trilogy. it’s the equivalent of 2042 to the battlefield franchise.

thorstein555d ago

2042 had a redemption arc and what exists now is a pretty good FPS.
