A lot of Japanese game developers design their characters base on the latest fashion trend. Snake's "mullet" is actually not a redneck mullet.

Aside from being a gamer, I'm actually working in the fashion industry and the new/old snake with the mustache was done on purpose. Believe it or not, mustaches are coming back. Fashion trends tend to repeat itself, and the mustache look was once popular. Now it's coming back, just give it a year or 2 and you'll see more people starting to modernize that look.

Snake too much; his "mullet" wasn't too noticeable. Simon Belmont on the other hand... I love Simon's Quest, and Simon as always been my favorite hunter.. but what the hell have they done to him through the years

Snake doesn't have a mullet, it's just long hair. As seen in MGS4's young snake w/o bandana.

All hail the Mullet!!

The new look for Max Payne in TFoMP was totally different than the first. It'd be like having Tobey Maguire play Spider Man then Bruce Willis in the sequel, they look so different.

But I do like Snake better with his mullet and beard. It gives him more of a "I don't give a sh@t" look to him. It's not so much a mullet as he just hasn't had a proper haircut since the Shadow Moses incident. Besides, that image is not of Snake in MGS1, that's from MGS Twin Snakes (the remake for Gamecube.) For all we know, Snake already had a mullet in MGS1, but the modelling and graphics were so terrible you just couldn't tell.

Mega mans and bomberman were by far the worst what was with mega man he looked like he was made out of legos lol. bomberman isn't bomberman anymore.

but i just cannot think of one. frankly i don't think snake should be on here, he looks grittier and cooler with his 'mullet' but whatever

I like solid snakes makeover it makes it look more releastic. Im tired of playing boyish characters honestly. Snake is kicka** dude not some prince that wipes his a** with silk, and please dont mess up my nails. Who can make a mullet look awesome!? Only snake can you dont f*ck up his style with some homo cravings... The link new look was cool as long as its not a permenant look you know. Its cool for the time being though because wind wakers style was great.

Sub zero sucked balls and bomberman just pissed me off lol.
