January and February vgchartz had 360 destroying the ps3 in U.S. numbers.

Yet when NPD time came around, those numbers were different.

So as usual, they are "assuming" numbers. And they are so high because they "assume" people are jumping on the price break

And as usual, if the NPD shows their numbers to be off (sometimes WAY off), vgchartz won't even bother to correct them

Where were all those people last week? Oh thats right they were rubbing in the PS3 numbers in the 360 face. But now, it's a bunch of made up inaccurate garbage.

I agree it's made up garbage but if we are going to fail this one we should fail all of them even when Sony is leading.

This price cut will pretty much wipe away any gains that the PS3 made over the last couple months in North America.

no,what makes you think i am a ps3 fan and not a wii fan? facts are that 360 had 3rrod with 33% failure rate and the games do go to pc,check the game sites.

VG Chartz underestimated PS3 sales for the month of June a lot and the PS3 went on to go and sell a lot more than what they predicted.

I'm guessing that VG Chartz "thinks" that 360 sales will all of a sudden be higher just because of the Xbox 360 20GB model being lowered to $299, but the funny thing is that Microsoft has a Xbox 360 Arcade at $279, but the PS3 has been outselling the Xbox 360 almost every month of this year still.

the statistical difference between vgchartz and npd numbers is not large enough for people to start throwing cyber temper tantrums. keep it to yourself. you're just setting yourself up for heartbreak anyway because it will almost take a small miracle for the PS3 to catch up to and surpass the X360. Even the gains the PS3 has made recently are a drop in the bucket compared to the 5 million console base lead that the X360 already has.

Yeah, too much time. the 360 is already halfway through it's lifecycle. And it hasn't even hit it's mass-market price of $199 which it will before the PS3. At this rate by the time the PS3 even gets a sniff of catching up to the X360 Microsoft will be releasing its new console and no gamers will really care when there is a console out with 2-3 gb of ram putting out graphics that make this gen look silly. I know I won't care about the 360 or PS3 at that point.

Like I said, don't sweat it. I never owned a playstation. I owned Nintendo products before buying the original xbox which ended up a third place console but I didn't care because it had awesome games like KOTOR, Halo, and Fable. Plus there was nothing comparable to xbox live at the time so I was happy.

here is what has to happen. The people that are approving these ridiculous articles over and over from VGChartz must be banned. Its obvious that the mods are not going to ban any article that gets approvals from the users. So if they wont ban the article, ban the people that keep approving this, because I am willing to bet that it is the same people over and over. VGChartz has been proven time and time again to be unreliable and, well basically made up. So if the mods won't ban the articles, ban the people that keep approving this, or just the one IP because I wouldn't be surprised if its just one person with 10 different accounts.

A/c VGchart, MS raped Sony last week. That was good number if it is true. I am glad MS console is selling good. I like my PS3 and Games i want to play will be releasing on PS3 (killzone 2, RFoM2, LBP, call of duty 5, Resident Evil 5, FF13, God of War, and many others) no matter what sales looks like but at least Sony will learn some lession from this console war, I hope.

Sony should be really worried about this i know the Vg charts aren't accurate as usual but the charts showed the post effect of of E3 on both consoles (PS3 and Xbox 360) after Son's loss their biggest exclusive .

This week, the 360 has doubled in sales, while the ps3 is losing its own momentum.

Is it accurate? I dunno.

But what is perhaps MOST telling, is the number of SDF on here that curse the inaccuracy of VGchartz when it goes against them and praise it when it goes in their favour.

360 is back on track - it's even close to the Wii.

I don't get why the PS3 is not selling more than the 360 by now. I mean that overheating RRoD piece of sh*t is still selling? The PS3 in my opinion should have overrun the 360 in sells. Sony's PS3 has been getting better and better with all its updates and new games coming out for it. It better be selling a lot when HOME comes out for the Playstation 3. B/c the only thing that Microsoft did for the 360 was give it a new dashboard and a couple of games.

DX10 - Most things dx10 can do, is already done on dx9, although dx10 is supposed to be quicker at doing them, this is not always the case via vista, overbloated os.

So my question goes to 360 fans, when M$ does bring out their next console, and abandon yours, Will you purchase the next one?

If the 360 does not massively increase sales over the first xbox, M$ won't be making another one.

Are you serious? Playstation 3 will outsell 360 within the next year. Honestly, I wouldn't even be surprised if it outsold 360 by the end of 2008.

Remember back in December when the 360 had a 7.5 million unit lead, and everyone with a 360 said, "PS3 will never outsell 360" and now we're in July and the 360 has a 5 million lead, and everyone with a 360 says "PS3 might catch up by the end of this generation, but by then I won't care" Does anyone else see a trend forming. It's amazing how mind set changes in 6 months isn't it =)

I just think it's funny that all of the sudden January 2009 has become the end of the 7th generation, when Playstation 3 will be celebrating its second birthday.
