
Retro-style indie games are titles which shrug off the appeal of large budgets in favour of returning to classic gameplay and styles. These are often developed by smaller teams and are rarely projects that are pursued by larger companies looking for huge revenue.
This push for games that play to our nostalgic hearts brings up some pretty interesting questions about game design in 2015. We have to ask if ‘retro’ is just a fancy way of saying a game had little funding and resulted in a dated looking product. In some cases this is true, in others it’s not.

Catlevanias GBA and DS games are the best! But there others that I like a lot such as Hollow Knight, Chasm etc
