Final Fantasy Type-0 HD PS4 vs. PC Screenshot Comparison Reveals Less Awful Post-Processing Effects

GearNuke writes: "If you have played Final Fantasy Type-0 HD on PS4 or Xbox One, you are most likely familiar with the absolutely awful camera motion blur in the game. This blur made the game hard to play because it was nauseating at times. The good news is that Square Enix has finally fixed this blur in the PC version of the game and also tweaked down the depth-of-field effect."

The difference is shockingly minor...I expected a bit more.

Razputin4006d ago

You forget this is a Square Enix port. Expect the bare bone minimum of just getting the game to work.

Final Fantasy XI and XIV are the only two FF games on PC that they actually put time and effort in.

I have the original FFVII & VIII, the Steam versions, FFIII, FFIV, FFXIII & XIII-2. While some are varying degrees of greatness the ports aren't the best. Some down right suck.

Eonjay4006d ago (Edited 4006d ago )

Yeah, they are pressing the limits of the what can be considered an improvement. And anything that they have added to the PC version can clearly be replicated by the console versions as this PSP original doesn't come close to bottle-necking anything.

This should have been releases with the console versions.

Oh btw... I love this game.

RashBandicoot4006d ago

Depends, I think performance wise we should see a boost as the console version ran at a fixed 30 FPS while I'm assuming the PC port will run at 60. That's a big difference especially for an action game like Type-0.

Also none of these are 4K screenshots which again will show a difference.

pyroxxx4006d ago (Edited 4006d ago )

did they really lock it to 30 on PS4? that is retarded,.. Should run 200+ easily ,..

Jihaad_cpt4006d ago

How many people have screens and graphics cards to run at 4k? Probably not that many

Magicite4006d ago

Now please announce KH 1.5 + 2.5 for PS4.

Articuno764006d ago

I'm not sure why you would. There was no real compromise on the console versions of the game, so naturally this is going to look very similar and the same resolution.

Square can have my money when KingdomHearts comes to pc or FinalFantasy:15. Until then they really don't have anything I care to much for.

Haru4006d ago

They should update the console version as well

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Review – Zero Regrets

Gary Green said: After finally getting the long-overdue platinum trophies for Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and XV, I wondered if I could manage another. Despite a few blunders, it’s a franchise worth showing off in your collection. I had to find another game with a realistically achievable platinum, which sadly rules out quite a few. Fortunately, I didn’t have far to look as I dusted off Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, which was, in fact, my very first PS4 game, and one that’s aging surprisingly well.

Type-0 Is The Darkest Final Fantasy Ever Made

DS: “I hate that Type-0 is forgotten among the Final Fantasy games. While not the strongest entry, its mature story makes it stand out from the others. And even though Final Fantasy now has three rated M games — including Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin and Final Fantasy XVI, — Type-0 will always have the crown of being the first, and arguably the darkest.”

i agree that it is indeed dark, but it has its issues.

and i feel like the ending is what makes it really a dark final fantasy game.

the rest is more or less war where teenagers fight.

fsfsxii1076d ago

This game was the epitome of the FF dark age pretty much, was hella boring and the gameplay was tedious. I'm glad SE got the series back on track

gold_drake1075d ago

well, it was more of a spin off rly.
especially after they dropped the fabula nova crystalis stuff

H91076d ago

I actually really love this game, the main problem however was that the entire story and personality of the characters, was in the lore that you need to dig very deep to find and external materials outside of the game, honestly it has my favorite lore in the franchise, I wish they had made the game more story focused, god it would have been a masterpiece

This Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Mod Runs The Game At 120 FPS

The PC port of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD had many problems, and now a new mod fixes them and lets you play at 120 FPS.

jznrpg1247d ago

120fps is overrated and totally unnecessary for these types of games . 60fps is more than plenty

KrillinShine1247d ago (Edited 1247d ago )

That's subjective, I'll take 120fps if the hardware can handle it over 60fps if given the option. Nothing wrong with liking smoother visuals.

jznrpg1247d ago (Edited 1247d ago )

120fps will make most games suffer someway . If it doesn’t sure great 120fps but if it takes anything away from it I’d rather have 60fps . For online shooters I get it but for RPGs I’d rather have more detail and such and 60fps instead of losing some of that and 120fps .
I played DMC at 120fps and I couldn’t tell the difference myself besides that the graphics were worse .

KrillinShine1247d ago

You're missing the point - to some people 120fps is more pleasing to the eye than sharper visuals, higher texture quality and/or AO. No harm in giving people the option for it, mod or not.

Also, you couldn't tell the difference between 60fps and 120fps? Are you sure you have a monitor that supports 120fps? It's a night and day difference to me.

CrimsonWing691247d ago

I couldn’t get into this game. I probably should give it another try.

Kurisu1247d ago

I quite enjoyed the game to be honest! Sure, the story wasn't amazing. But it was good to see FF try a new direction. Was nice having so many playable characters, but it's a shame that there is little to no charcater development for any of them.

CrimsonWing691247d ago

Ye, you're not alone. I really tired, but I couldn't. The only reason I even pushed myself to play it for a while was because I'm an FF fan, but it just didn't click. The intro FMV was epic though.

jznrpg1247d ago

The way it loads so much I didn’t care for but it’s not a bad game . Story is weak and if they had a good story I would love it . But with a meh story it’s decent . I like most things Final Fantasy though so I could see how some wouldn’t care for it .

CrimsonWing691247d ago

Yea, I’m in the same boat where I can like most things Final Fantasy related. I’d like to fire it up again just to get the platinum at least.

Shinox1247d ago

One of the worst overhyped FF games with garbage story , people made a mistake hyping this up

Kurisu1247d ago

I'm still glad that I actually got to play it. When it released exclusively in Japan on PSP I didn't think I'd ever get the chance.

jznrpg1247d ago

I enjoyed it but I see the point of the story being bleh

TheColbertinator1247d ago

This was originally a mobile game in development so the lack of vision became apparent as the game released on the PSP first.

Kurisu1246d ago

Agito XIII, back when the Fabula Nova Crystallis games was supposedly going to be a thing.
