Nope. It doesn't contain Mario or Zelda and its not a JRPG which means that Nintendo gamers wont support it......o yeah and Pokémon. No Pokémon in Splatoon either means no sale for at least half the install base

My my, will the trolling never end...
"Nintendo gamers only buy Mario and Zelda"
Yet here I stand with more non-mainline-Mario/Zelda games on my Wii U than anything.
Seems to me that whiners just don't give non-mainline-Mario games the credit and consideration they deserve when looking at the Wii U's lineup, let alone any of the very entertaining spin-offs of those main franchises..

If it's such an issue for you to think of this games not getting millions in sales, then why not buy it yourself and convince others you know to do the same?

I honestly think it will be a sleeper hit. They're advertising it well (outside of US) and they had a free demo for all of the current wii u owners to try. It's also a solid game.

I predict at least 2 million by year's end. Maybe 3 lifetime.

Yes. The hype is everywhere. Amiibos are all sold out and every gamestop i go in has at lest 25 preorders. Even the staff in each gamestop i have been in have the game preordered. Yes this game will be a hit and yes it will sell over a million copies. Is it going to be the next Call of Duty or Assassins Creed and sell 3 million copies? No. But on a console with a fraction of others install base selling a million makes it a hit.

It will sell well, I see more positive comments about it than negative

Why Is Splatoon So Popular In Japan?

How, exactly, did Splatoon reach heights rivalled only by Pokémon in Japan? New IPs from the House of Mario appear as often as shiny Pocket Monsters, yet typically move comparatively mediocre numbers or fall into relative obscurity behind the premium marques of Mario, Animal Crossing, Zelda, and Pokémon. Take Pikmin and ARMS, for example, which we adore but struggle to compete with the tentpole franchises when it comes to sales numbers or mainstream mindshare.

So, again, how has Splatoon risen to become one of Nintendo's most important series in Japan?
