Konami Didn't (Directly) Disable Share-Play On P.T.

With Konami cancelling Silent Hills and removing the P.T. demo from the PS Store, the publisher isn't the most loved company at the moment. Recent articles would imply that the publisher also disabled the share-play function for the demo but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Still have my demo on my system.

VER1ON4038d ago

Same here, scared the sh*t out of me though

Kalebninja4038d ago

They might win the worst company award instead of EA this time.

Games4Gamers4037d ago

I wouldn't say worst because I still think it is either EA or Ubisoft, but they are probably the dumbest

Christopher4038d ago

Removing it from Sony servers disables it. Pretty clear cut. If there's no online ID tied to the game, there's no SharePlay. So, yeah, they did disable SharePlay. REgardless if they intended to do that or not.

VER1ON4037d ago

I agree with you but I wonder if this was intended by Konami or not. They did pull it from the store for some reason. Might be that they didn't even think of the share-play function and whether it would work or not.

Christopher4037d ago

I doubt they care about it at all. If they cared at all, they would have only de-listed the game rather than removing it entirely. That way people who had purchased it before could redownload it and play it again.

MrSwankSinatra4037d ago (Edited 4037d ago )

I'm willing to bet that Konami will force sony to remove PT off any systems that have it installed through firmware update.

VER1ON4037d ago

I thought about this as well - they probably won;t mention that in the firmware notes:P

mydyingparadiselost4037d ago

I'm waiting patiently for Konami to publicly stated that it's all Kojimas fault.

What happens when you make good games, keep it up konami, you've been doing great. Please do a AAA Castlevania too, or heck just start off remaking/remastering old games to play it safe.

Alek83122d ago

Bought both Castlevania Advance Collection and the Dominus Collection. I would absolutely love to have all the GBA games as well, and of course Symphony of the Night.

What I would really love though, is a true next gen sequel to SotN.

Cacabunga97d ago

Not any games: SINGLE PLAYER GAMES!!!
I bought Silent Hill and MGS3!
Keep them coming, i will keep supporting!

nommers123d ago

Hoping for a new rumble roses someday

Scissorman123d ago

that's what happens when you make silent hill great again.

Inverno123d ago

Ironic. Also I guess the whole "fk Konami" phase is over now that they're selling remakes of already great games. People are easy to please, just rattle pretty graphics them.

gold_drake122d ago

i mean, silent hill f is a brand new game and it sold better then silent hill 2 remake.

franwex123d ago

Woah, making good games that people want to play pays off?
Someone tell Ubisoft and Square-enix!

badz149123d ago

SE make good games. WTF are you talking about?

franwex122d ago

I don’t mean final fantasy. I meant their OTHER games. Like their Babylon’s Fall, Avengers, etc. Don’t be coy.

RedDevils122d ago

You must be living under a rock if you put SE in the same category as Ubisoft.

Reaper22_122d ago

Well,, I think all publishers have made some good and bad games. Its a risky business.

Nice. Im glad they are doing that.

Vits191d ago

Very unlikely to happen, but I really wish they at least remastered Shattered Memories. From a story telling point, that is still my favourite title and I think it would fit really well as a VR game.

gold_drake191d ago

why is it very unlikely to happen?

2 and f sold really well. especially f

if they nail 1, then im all on board

on_line_forever191d ago

When I want to play silent hill game I always expect to get the same atmosphere I was see in SH 1 & 2 with deep and great story connect with silent hill city (not another city ) so if Konami want to continue release new games it should based on the success of these games.

In my opinion I think the game need :

- improve combat ( no more action just improve the combat and physics)
- another good and deep story
- improve creatures and enemies design
- add mysterious puzzles and it will be good if these puzzles connected with game story
- and of course Akira should involved in the project.
- create mysterious characters

gold_drake191d ago

good, cause .. i mean, after 2, it kinda goes downhill.
off the rails after 3 ha

Miraak82 191d ago

I kinda liked SH4:The Room .. it was kinda weird ... in a good way

BlaqMagiq1191d ago

We need a Silent Hill 3 Remake after 1

Looks like Mobile is still their bread and butter. But I'm glad they are at least diversifying finally...

CrimsonWing69213d ago

Isn’t that the case for most in the mobile gaming market?

cloganart213d ago

It's just saddening to see.

TheEroica213d ago

My god what I'd give for a new Castlevania game.... Still one of the coolest IPs in gaming.... I'd love to play a AAA Castlevania game that gets the god of war treatment.... Treat the whip like a character. Simon Belmont.... Dracula. Go.
