[UPDATE] Konami has confirmed to IGN that The 1984 Collection is a clothing line, not a new video game.

A clothing line? boooo...

I can find my own cardboard box thank you very much.

Spore_7774043d ago

Did people really think it was a new video game?

pivotplease4043d ago

In a day and age where collections and remasters have greatly proliferated? Yes.

This has to either be a prequel to the main series, since the main series started in 1987, or this is the clothing line that Kojima hinted last year.

secretcode4043d ago

Proooooooobably a clothing line.

EinRobot4043d ago

Konami can suck it, they have received the last of my money.

NarooN4043d ago

MGS V will be the last thing I ever buy from them.

EinRobot4042d ago

Yes, I am going to purchase that. I should have been more clear. I do not forsake Kojima.

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman42d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
