This has always been the way it goes. Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars was awesome and flopped at retail. Jet Set Radio Future was great and flopped as well. Shenmue II even though it never launched in Canada and the US on the Mighty Dreamcast, it did come out on the original xbox. It flopped as well.
I guess because many awesome games dont exactly look cutting edge graphically or being hyped to the skies. And i am glad they don't.
At least like that, the devs will keep the quality of the sequel excellent and wont milk their game to death with dlc and season passes BS.
Because the average games get overhyped and then the sheep end up buying the average games over the good ones.
