WWE 2K on PC: Modder's Dream?

WWE No Mercy for the Nintendo 64, heralded as the greatest sports-entertainment video game of all time, has pretty much been modded to heck, even before Nintendo 64 emulation was perfected. Ring of Honor, TNA, New Japan Pro Wrestling, SHIMMER Women's Athletes, you name the promotion, it probably got a No Mercy mod made. Hell, people are still modding the game today with the current WWE roster (playing with John Cena in WWE No Mercy is a ton of fun. Just saying.)

However, with the arrival of WWE 2K15 on PC this past Tuesday afternoon, the biggest question centered not on improvements, but on the potential for modding.

Big Loss for Piracy? Famous Switch Hacker Already Throwing in the Towel on Switch 2

TNS - Atmosphere CFW developer has publicly said that he will not be making a version for the Switch 2, and the console might be virtually unhackable.

People love hacking Nintendo hardware. It may take awhile, but its going to happen. If for nothing else but game preservation can only be achieved via homebrew / modding.

Nintendo could literally brick your Switch 2 with any attempts at hacking. If people could successfully hack it that is an achievement, and Nintendo should hire that person🤣 give him or her bonuses to make it even harder to hack the next time.

A mod chip can fix that, would need to be soldered and of course disable Wi-Fi. The way I see it, is if you buy something Switch 2, PS5, whatever, you have every right to mod it because you paid for it. The only thing would happen is the company would void your warranty and that's it, bricking should be illegal regardless of what your intent is because again you bought it. If I want to mod a console to run Linux I should be able to do that, or play older games, run homebrew etc.

Bricking isn't an issue if you stay offline (which all pirates should be doing anyway), only a fool would take their hacked game console online, unless if you have EmuNAND, which Switch 1 allows, then you're safe.

Anyway, my Switch 2 will be OFFLINE, and never bricked.

It can be hacked give it time, the console is not even out yet. Most likely it would require a mod chip to solder to bypass all security, no soft mod would be possible. I actually think it would be better to try to get Switch 2 ROMs on torrent sites and buy a handheld PC like the upcoming ROG Ally X 2 to emulate them. I'm sure there will be Switch 2 emulators coming, and the best way to distribute them would be again on torrent sites so that Nintendo canno't do anything about that.
