Heavy Rain Shown Behind Closed Doors At E3 2008?

Looking at the official Sony press release, first party PlayStation 3 titles that were shown at E3 are listed in the release. One PlayStation 3 title from the press release that has not had coverage is Heavy Rain. Is Heavy Rain being shown behind closed doors by Sony? If so, the press would likely have to had signed an NDA to keep quiet about the game. If anything, the game will probably be fully unveiled at the Leipzig Games Convention next month.

I wouldn't be surprise. I hope it get leak

nothing new or exciting. We saw more footage on games we had already seen gameplay for so nothing new there. I was really hoping on seeing either new ips such as the one about that english reporter who was very impresed with a video they showed. No ICO info, nothing on heavy rain, MS didnt give anything new exept for the whole FFxii thing which seemed more of a SE announcement. Nintendo don t care really. I honestly cant see a winner this E3 as we were all expecting more from both sides and both sides really underwhelmed. Where the hell is heavy rain, at least some videos will do just nice, why behind closed doors, what about the gamers, the fans. Seems like all this wait for E3 was a waste of time. Im not sure about the rest of you guys but we gamers havent been excited about much for quite a while now.

Well, E3 is a North America centric games convention, so there will likely only be announcements from North American game studios. Leipzig is centric towards Europe, so there will be European game announcements there. TGS is centric towards Asia, so there will be Japanese game announcements there. It's just how it is. Heavy Rain is a European developed game so it's likely to be shown at Leipzig than at E3 just as Team ICO will probably blow out at TGS.

WTF are you talkin about, did you forget MAG? While MS fanboys got a port, we got a brand new exclusive :)

you are so right. Was it me or was the G4 team all over MS D#$#. You Had Morgan Webb making jabs at sony for the last 2 days. She keep saying sony needs games sony needs games. Then you got the other pecker heads all over Queffy B and gears of war. 80% of games shown by M$ at E3 are Multi Plat. Sony showed some new IPs today and all we hear is they didn't show much yea OK. I just don't understand it, why all the hate for the ps3 I don't think if sony didn't enter the gaming market it wouldn't be what it is today. The media is so pro MS it's funny, almost.
sony is about coming out with new IPs and stuff, and you got M$ throwing boats loads off money around to 3rd party devs. I can not wait for M$ to come out with the 720 just so people get stuck with there broken 360s wake up boys what happens when they stop sending the coffins, then what.

Perhaps you may have some what of a point but isnt GG a european studio? so why do we see KZ2 but not other IPS. Trust me I am not one of those pS3 owners who bs about selling their console just because of the FFxIII thing, doesnt worry me one bit. I guess I just see it as every passing year with improvements on engines and experience with the hardware we should be able to see new projects. Last year was a great and exciting E3 but this year really didnt seem to wow anybody. I guess a little more info on all those rumors that have been going on for a while about new games and accessories either a confirmation or debunked them. Im not hating on what Sony offered but I was just expecting to be wowed this year with as I mentioned before all the rumors that have been going on. I think a lot of people just thought there would be more to it than what we saw.

Please stop comparing video games to movies

"Many video games catch not only great commercial attention but remarkable critical attention as well. We have seen games like Heavy Rain, The Last of Us Part II, and even entries in the Metal Gear series described as fantastic interactive experiences, even heralded in the same way as Hollywood's greatest films.

I would suggest that not only is this an unfair comparison but also a harmful one. Video games, by their very nature, are an intricately different medium and should be weighed against one another rather than another form of media," Phillip writes for GF365.

Yes, please stop. They're better than most hollywood drivel nowadays.

BLAKHOODe2025d ago

I think Hollywood films will becoming increasingly more like video games in the future, especially as the world embraces the "new normal" from the pandemic. It makes sense, as games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales showcase just how realistically we're reaching in graphical capabilities, as well as showcase extreme action sequences in spectacular ways. And as time goes by, it'll get easier and cheaper to produce such "art", as well as create new star "actors" that never age, never die, never complain, never gets involved in scandals, etc. Technology is amazing and we're only just getting a taste of what it'll eventually be.

sourOG2025d ago

No. Some games are like movies.

medman2024d ago (Edited 2024d ago )

No. For the money spent, a quality game provides far more entertainment value than a quality movie. Especially when looking at what is going on in the world, and how a studio can attempt to pilfer from consumers by charging 30 dollars for Mulan via streaming. Ridiculous. There is no comparison....games all day.
