How about an elderly protagonist?
How about someone with a stuttering problem?

As long as they make a character who happens to be transgender, not a transgender character. I personally am hoping that the character creator allows me to choose b/t different races... Turian, Asari, Krogan, Drell!?

Why oppose more options when they're, by definition, optional? Why are people offended by transgender gamers enjoying creating a character they identify with more? As it so happens, they're just are transgender players in the world. Same way they're are black, Asian, Latino, and white gamers out there. Mass Effect lets you customize those options too if you want.

The series did a great job letting players choose their own story rather than making it about any particular demographic. People are afraid of a "transgender" agenda ruining the game. Why are minorities guilty of agendas and majorities aren't? Why should we reinforce that straight characters are the only non-controversial protagonists we can have in games simply because they've been around longer?

If controversy is inevitable no matter what game you make, I'd rather be on the side of giving gamers more options. If we can unbundle the Kinect from the Xbox One, can we even tolerate the existence of a potential transgender lead in a game? I don't know anymore, but I'd like to think so.

Don't shove this down our throats. I have no problem with LBGT people, but I don't want this forced on me. If you make it the main character or the villian, I just won't be able to relate. If it's some optional NPC or Easter Egg for that community - fine.

Oh Bioware, why don't you just focus on making a good game instead of trying to cause controversy and grab headlines. Yes we get it, there is nothing wrong with gay characters and there is nothing wrong with guy or girl wanting to be the opposite sex and you can be so bad that you can punch a reporter in the face... but stop shoving it down our throats.

I think you'd have to make a game that completely revolves around the subject for it to not to feel tacked on. I wouldn't want to play Mass Effect as a way to better understand transgenderism. It would only do everyone a disservice.

Who cares....you have Japanese Anime games where some of the male characters looks almost like females some times...I have no problems with it, just make sure the gameplay is good!

I know this country has its hang up on this subject, but its here and not going anywhere apparently. Look at the GTAIV episode of Ballad of Gay Tony, the game has undertones of the LGBT world of Studio 54 for the old club/disco heads in NYC.

I don't have too much against transgenderism. Go ahead by all means, but how silly would it be to have an action hero who crossdresses? I don't think those choice of style ideals come first when there is real conflict and life and death situations in a serious space drama, just saying. It would be stupid.

Transgenders wouldn't want to play as a transgender. What would be the point of this.

They may be able to pull it off as a kind of species from an alien planet but even so why take a gamble like that in the 1st place.

We don't need this! If someone want's to make a game about gays, Lesbians or whatever, go ahead and make one. I'm sure some people will buy it. But don't do this for the Mass Effect franchise. I plan on buying Mass Effect when it comes out, but if I have some homo, trans or whatever NPC flirting with me in the game, I will be pissed!

I'm not hating but I wouldn't want to play as that. Just my preference.

This is an example of the inherit greed people have. They want other rpgs to do what another game does, even if it doesnt make sense. Mass Effect had a different dialogue structure, to to mention that shepard is a voiced protagonist. Tav is not. Furthermore, we have a close to home example of why this is not so great idea. Dragon age attempted to copy mass effect when it came to dialogue structure, with slight variation. Im pretty sure most dragon age fans preferred Origins approach.

They dont beed to concern themselves too much with Larian. BioWare would be better off mastering themselves.

Mass Effect is over for good. The Biware of today will never be able to bring it back as a great game to match the trilogy.

1 was my favorite but the setting and mood of Mass Effect 2 was genius.

There gonna make books about this Bioware comeback, hope the next ME is just as amazing as Veilguard seems to be.

I only played mass effect 2 once n that was back in early 2011, I dont remember mich of the story so it will be like experiencing that gem all over again. Thoroughly playing mass effect 1 it's so mf good, never played 3. So of course this trilogy is one of my most favorites, I been playing adromeda for the first time I actually been enjoying that too got it for 5$ the other day. I have no hope for the next entry tho, that's like hoping we'll actually get a real saints row sequel that'll show saints row 2022 and sr4 didn't exist it was all bad dreams as our character wakes back up describing the nightmare they went through lmao

So is that admission Andromeda was a tone deaf brain spasm?
