I think everyone expected Sony to deliver there own knock out punch. When you look at it over all. Sony's line up shows more promise. Like a few people have said. At least they showed off some new IP's.

good but not great showing. It lacked a knock out punch that MS had. 256 MAG is nice, don't get me wrong. Now, if they ended the show with ... effective tomorrow the PS3 is now $299.99 ... that would have been a big bang!

MS went casual, Nintendo just didn't do a whole lot and Sony was so so. MS stealing FFXIII was the biggest news, but doesn't mean the other 99% of their conf had alot to offer.

Sony gave Home a token appearance and said nothing more about release dates.

It was almost the Insomniac/Sony show with R2, Quest for Booty and the Resistance PSP release (although Insomniac doesn't appear to be the developers on that one).

If you didnt think sony was moving in the right direction with that conference you need to go buy a freakin xbox and shut up.
I understand why sony didnt fight to keep ff13. They are busy building a community. As much as i despise the 360 and microsoft i can admit they have set up a good online community. Sony is going for that now as well. People buy a console not because it has ff13 or mgs4, but because all their friends have the same console.
Also sony is focused on making the ps3 the center of your living room entertainment center. Home, a video store, internet browser, messenger service, bluray.
And then you get the new generation of games. Console MMO's, massive mulitplayer battlegrounds, excellent first party titles and a handheld that better compliments the system every year.

that's pretty much it. i told ya this e3 was gonna be weak. while watching the sony conference i even thought "hey maybe sony is really showing something like gow3,heavy rain,trico" ya know new stuff we haven't seen yet. but no they did like everyone else :showing stuff we already knew about, apart from mag though...still, e3 is dead for me i guess, this pretty much sums it up.

Resistance 2 looked like garbage, Mag was jsut a movie ( I bet there gonna get burned for showing graphics to powerful for an online game of that scale, we all know only PC games can get those graphics), Nintendo was boring, and MS nothing special other than FF13.

sony's conference was boring except for infamous is going to turn out to be a hopeful title but nothing is really new there wasn't any game play for mag or god of war III as for microsoft gears 2 is looking great and i can't wait for final fantasy xiii on 360 overall i think all the shows were about equal except for nintendo yawn....

Sony legs humpers are hilarious... they give Sony the win for showing a dumb down version of microsoft video makertplace with like 6 studios supporting it... they announced a new game (MAG) which is Sony's E308 version of E305 Kill Zone 2.... a new game without a release date and only CGI that will not represent nothing of what the final game will be like... When will MAG come out? 2011? You people learn nothing.. Sony sells consoles base on announcement of titles that they probably have not even start working on it... That's how they manage to get away with PS2 looking game like Resistance 2 that Gears 2 rapes in terms of graphics and gameplay...

No Ico,Jax, or Uncharted 2? = Disapointed! Also a short ratchet and Clank Quest for booty coming "only" (well something is better than nothing),no sign of heavy rain? Nice to see GOW3 and Infamous,but they are pretty far down the road, 3 second clip of LBP? But I bet they will show lots more on the showroom floor,at least they better...

Same thing with Microsoft,no Forza 3,no other new IP. No sign of Peter Jackson's halo,Halo 4 etc,etc....But perhaps these games will be shown in the coming days,I sure hope so.Bungie will show their new IP tomorrow from what I heard...

As a owner of both consoles,I have to say I was a "bit" disapointed by both conferences...

But with games like LBP,Gears 2,Risistance 2,Fable 2,Killzone 2,Banjo Nut's & bolts, Risident evil 5,Fallout 3, Prince of Persia, Left for dead.etc,etc... I think they will hold me over real well, until the Ico's, Jax's, Heavy Rain's, and Uncharted 2's do get here....

Sony, somehow looks like they are pushed into a corner. Yes, we all know the biggest announcement this year was when MS cast "knights of the round" yesterday.

Sony came down to it's last "Phoenix Down"(they had 3) and was able to escape/run away the Battle. If it wasn't for Sony and their troops in 3 fronts(PSP, PS2, PS3) I didn't see much content they could of pulled through with just the PS3. Really, I'm not sure why?

Why didn't we get a dev to come up and showcase LBP? That's the game I'm most interested in and most Casuals I'm sure.(Besides GOW3). But the PS3's Developer showcase was Resistance 2 and sheesh that one guy playing the game and that HUGE monster looked retarded. It's not like this was "Shadow of the Colossus " here. Put some more troops to showcase the battle of that sucker.(Maybe they all get cornered at the end or something) It just wasn't exciting and it didn't looked that great graphics-wise but I'm sure it will get better)

We got to see the games that we knew was coming but no big Surprises here. A couple of kewl PSN games, and more PS2/3 type games on the PSP. Still we need to see titles of it's own. (Only on PSP type games)

The price-cut might have been the ONLY SECRET here. (Great news)

Sony look like it played it safe(while trying to retain it's Hardcore User base with most of these games, while MS stepped out the BOX and said or at least tried to say "Were not mainly made as a "shooting console" with a bigger Mix of diverse titles,(yes a lot they didn't show) but we know is coming. Plus they SHOWCASE their game better, like all the DEVS come up and play and sh^t.

It seemed like the CROWD was bored. You can usually tell but screams and Claps. Watch it again.

Sony's press conference was funny "almost" the entire way thru with the boston guy doing some jokes and sackboy showing us the new stuff. The Ps2 and psp jabber sunk the funOmeter.

But still Sony delivered the most innovative stuff that can possible be made of todays electronic knowledge. MS delivered the promised stuff but noting groundbreaking equal to MAG or resistance 2 with it's 256 player maps/60 player maps. That's really pushing the limit and not standing in the same place stomping in the ground as gears2 and fable2 are doing. They are just a copy of the first game with some minor improvements so I can't understand you fanboys when you say sony had the worse conference?

If your a true gamer you want to play unbelievable games with the latest groundbreaking technology not the same IP with similar graphics and gameplay year after year.

Microsoft showed clearly during most of their conference that they are Suffering from wiitis. Which allows the point if their lessening love of the hardcore to be brought to bear since the only new thing they brought was a now "multiplatform title"

Nintendo continues its love affair with the casual aproach that has filled their hearts (and wallets) totaling forgeting its long lost love with hardcore gamers back in its roots.

Sony seeing how the hardcore were being left sad and lonely in the cold decided to focus their conference on hardcore games and no wiitis (or casual syndrome). To which they suceeded by presenting new games for all their 3 platforms of the hardcore nature.

Nintendo is gonna keep the lead on hardware and by sheer numbers they are gonna beat the software "achievements" of the 360 even in third party software (note not a particular title but the avalanche of party games and other casual stuff will push its software revenue much higher)

Microsoft will atract a few of the "informed" and "lookeing for more" casual gamers however i believe the effect will be a trickle and will not in any shape or form help them outsell the competition (worldwide). However their support for third parties and their online services for the hardcore will help them maintain the lead on software until the sheer numbers of the wii will make it impossible to keep it.

Sonys momentum will keep it going on hardware and software although the ps3 will continue to rise it will not close (all of) lead of the 360 however it will allow for a better sustainability and with the help of the strenghed psp and the unstopable ps2 (hardware for psp and both for ps2) it will achieve a decent level of profitability by next year. Also the hardcore will start adopting more ps3 than xbox 360 for oversaturation of the 360 on that market.

I don't know I think the Sony conference what kinda cool. I like the way they put there video together and they add music with it. That was entertaining. but I was wanting for something new other than MAG, even thougth i like the idea of the game, Not so sure how it'll work out. In the end, it was good and it was the best of the tree( For me anyway)

Thing is that FF13 on the Xbox360 was huge but MS had no new IPS and their "fresher" avatars lacked importance.

Sony was the only company that came out with new IPs ( about 2 to be exact) and with a new sequel.

MS partnering with Netflix and Sony partnering directly with all major producers to rend movies and buy them at exactly the same price. Looks like no one wins here.

Software update:

MS releasing a new dashboard with avatars, and Sony releasing the Home later this year. The functionality is the same. Virtual hangout for gaming peeps. You can teleport your virtual ass into a game from the dashboard with your friends. Nobody wins.

Episodic content:

Portal expansion on 360 vs Ratchet and Clank expansion on PS3. I'll get both. Nobody wins.

Games:

MS biggies this year and early next year: Fable 2, RE5, Fallout 3, Gears of War 2, FF XIII, Halo Wars

sony had the best conference hands down. not a huge announcement like ffxiii but some big announcements, great games, and completely entertaining and visually pleasing the whole way through. even the charts and sales stuff!

while all 3 press conferences were average, i think Nintendo's was the worst, Microsoft's was uninspired, and relied too much on third party hype and a multi-platform title to garner buzz, and Sony's was pretty good, with new IP announcements, and a surprise or two (the video store being available TONIGHT is pretty surprising, as is the 256 player MAG from SOCOM developers Zipper Interactive).

E3 isn't over yet, but i'm not disappointed, to be truthful. my must have list is already rather large (i'm buying games for TWO consoles, not just one. not to mention my PSP), so i'm pretty content. now, i'm just looking forward to later this year, at Leipzig and TGS, to see the OTHER titles are on the way.

Its a day like this when I am glad to own a PS3. Sony have shown us today more new titles than M$ and they didnt boast about multiplatform titles (M$) which don't really help a system. I have all three consoles myself, but I am glad that the PS3 has all these new IPs. FFXIII will still be good because the PS3 gamers are getting the ORIGINAL version and not the port and it wont be on multiple discs for us PS3 ppl. I am glad that they have invested most of their time in 1st party exclusives because thats where Sonys best exclusive games (MGS4 excluded from this statement) comes from. Gran Turismo 3 belive it or not was the best selling PS2 game and Resistance is the best selling PS3 game so I believe Sony can beat the 360 this time around. Remember ppl everyone thought Sony would fail with the PS2 last time and look what happened to that console.

the ps3 was a bit boring as most of it had already been seen, but the xbox didnt show any new software worth mentioning. the ps3 already has announced alot of stuff the 360 talked about plus more i.e home (avatars)etc.

someone above said that all the games on 360 that were shown are going to be out by the end of the year, well what happens when the end of the year comes round. You got nothing and get abandoned just like the last xbox. least sony is loyal and take care of their customers, the ps2 has still got new titles coming, any new titles for the xbox 1 recently?

IMO xbox owners have been f****d in the ass and have a red ring (no pun intended)
