Neverwinter Xbox One vs PC Screenshot Comparison: How Does the Console Version Stack Up?

Neverwinter has just been released on Xbox One, bringing some more MMORPG action to Microsoft’s console. UI and controls aside, the game is very similar to the PC version, but how do the graphics compare?

Turns out, not too well.

It looks a tad bit sharper on PC. Other than that the backgrounds are a bit different in some shots. But the game is pretty much the same game. This comparison seems to lack significance.

Yeah, it's not really a graphically demanding game in the first place. Pretty similar here overall.

Are you blind?? The Xbox One version looks terrible and has tons of graphical content cut look at this shot for example his box is missing the tree in the background is cut down not to mention his chain mail and its only a basic shot with next to nothing on screen and should easily be able to be rendered by the xbox one its a horrible port!

Looks a bit better on PC obviously, but game is much more enjoyable on console for some reason. I tried it on PC and uninstalled it after few hours. On a console it just feels different. Big hopes for ESO.

They tried to match the settings on the PC to what they are on the Xbox One. In reality the settings set to max on PC make the game look much better than the Xbox One version.

It runs considerably worse on the Xbox One than on a good PC. Lots of lag in game and other glitches. Needs a few more patches and networks fixes.

Final fantasy 14 looks great and has very little lag, go figure.

I like playing Neverwinter on Xbox One because it works very well with a controller but still needs some work.

I don't see too much of a difference. Imo, pc wins out on hair and shadows. Colour probably a bit better on oc too. Nothing wrong with how the xbox version looks really, they're much the same.

Chuuzuu4030d ago (Edited 4030d ago )

I agree, sure the pc should look better, but it's not quite as dramatic a difference as the author tries to point out.

GenuineGamer4031d ago (Edited 4031d ago )

PC version is def sharper, Most likely it has a higher resolution. And some slight differences in background but nothing major. Trees with more foliage and so on.

Its not a graphically intensive game so i am surprised its not identical but tbh it pretty much is apart from the aforementioned differences.

I can definitely see this game improving performance wise over time through updates but for now its out and it is what it is, and really its fine :)

and its FREE

Cant really complain, however if this was a full price game it would be another story.

The controller works a lot better than the keyboard and mouse setup in this game and that's the biggest difference between the two.

@krew: the pc version doesn't have native controller support, unless that's changed in last couple months and the work arounds are not as good.

Krew_924031d ago

Good thing you can use a controller on the PC as well.

Krew_924030d ago

Well that's unfortunate. Apologies for not researching, just it's such a standard feature on PC games to have controller support so I assumed. Thanks for the correction.

DougLord4030d ago

Yeah the game wasn't very good on PC. I don't think this has changed although ESO did get a lot better - so who knows.

It's for that online game, correct? I always wanted to see the drows home from Drizzt's books, I've read those years ago, but I never could fully imagine it from text alone. Looks a bit bright compared to what I remember how it was described, but I'm guessing that's for gameplay reasons.
