That's what she said ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Almost 2GB not bad.But the no voice chat option killed it for me.

r2oB4058d ago

Some people may think the file size is a bad thing. A current gen title being under 2GB could mean it either doesn't have much content, or the assets are low quality.

Concertoine4058d ago

Is that really a deal breaker for you?

Sorry to hear that.

My friends are too cheap to buy mics anyway so we just conference call lol

ChickeyCantor4057d ago

Concertoine,

A game like this needs team coordination. leaving it out is just dumb.

Using skype or whatever is a solution, however it should come out of the box.

randomass1714057d ago

@ChickeyCantor I agree that it definitely should have been in and I think most people even ones looking forward to the game would I agree. for me personally it's not really a deal breaker though.

Probably a lot of compression, Nintendo is known for that.

paddy954058d ago

Most updates are bigger than that. Everyone can learn from Nintendo!

superchiller4058d ago

What can they learn, how to make simplistic, cartoony, low-rez/poor textured games that take up very little space? I think the industry moved past that about a decade ago, so more like Nintendo could learn from everyone else.

BrandanT4058d ago

Go watch The Order or update your broken games.

PygmelionHunter4058d ago (Edited 4058d ago )

Oh. Seems like a job done by the compression wizards who work at Nintendo.

Are you paying attention, developers? Good. Because I'm sick of uncompressed 40+ gb games!

EcoSos34058d ago (Edited 4058d ago )

Imagine how big would xenoblade x would be...the game is already like 23gb.

Summons754058d ago

That's going to be pretty big compression or no.

ChickeyCantor4057d ago (Edited 4057d ago )

What makes you think data isn't compressed for other games?

The only thing they don't compress ( in most cases ) is audio files so they keep their clarity.

Nintendo is compressing as much as other companies are. Their games are just less complex from a visual point of view (Shaders don't takes megabytes of data per file, so no).

Why Is Splatoon So Popular In Japan?

How, exactly, did Splatoon reach heights rivalled only by Pokémon in Japan? New IPs from the House of Mario appear as often as shiny Pocket Monsters, yet typically move comparatively mediocre numbers or fall into relative obscurity behind the premium marques of Mario, Animal Crossing, Zelda, and Pokémon. Take Pikmin and ARMS, for example, which we adore but struggle to compete with the tentpole franchises when it comes to sales numbers or mainstream mindshare.

So, again, how has Splatoon risen to become one of Nintendo's most important series in Japan?
