Leonardo da Vinci once said, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” Leonardo the Ninja Turtle once said, “Cowabunga!” I believe I said both at some point while playing BOXBOY!, the clever and addicting puzzler whose simplistic design challenges you with the not-so-simple task of getting from Point A to Point B.
The hero of BOXBOY! is Qbby, a boy box. Qbby's goal is simple: get from one end of the stage to the other. Along the way crowns will appear; collecting those adds to your medal count, which can buy unlockables later in the game. Qbby can walk and jump, but that can't always get him across the level, for boxes, if you haven't noticed, don't jump all that high.

COG writes - 2015 was far from the 3DS' best year, but Nintendo's handheld still managed to have a wide array of good physical and digital-only games.

Daan is back with a vengeance... and to talk about downloadable titles again. Yeah, that too.

Cyburn writes : "HAL Laboratory (famous for Kirby and Smash Bros) have brought a new puzzle platformer to the 3DS eShop in the form of BOXBOY! Sit back and allow me to share my thoughts.
The main character “Qbby” (who is pretty much a small box with two eyes) is charged with the task of collecting crowns in this game. Using these he must use his special power (which is to create boxes and then detach them) to generate stairs, allowing him to solve puzzles and reach the exit. The number of boxes that can be created, plus how many can be used, varies from level to level, which encourages players to think of the most effective way to complete each level. Depending on whether you collected all the crowns in the level you are awarded with coins to spend in the shop where you can purchase challenges, techniques, or even costumes to customise your character".
