MaxLevel: So I have been ripped a new one online many times for expressing what I think casual and hardcore gamers are. I decided to be smart about it this time. I created a survey so others can answer the question.
Some gamers are more dedicated than individuals simply seeking to be entertained for a few hours. Said gamers have been collectively labeled as hardcore gamers, and it is reasonable to insinuate that gaming is more than just a mere hobby for them. Here are ten signs you might belong to this elite class of gamer.

I completely agree. I have a PlayStation 4 and Xbox one , dreamcast, ps3, xbox 360, and pre-ordered xbox one x. I really don't care what the console is at all, if you love game's it shouldn't matter what system it's on.
You might think that celebrities only act in or lend their voices to video games. However, there are some celebrities who are avid gamers just like you and me. And I don't just mean Hollywood stars -- there are also musicians, athletes, and even UFC fighters that share a love for gaming.
ROFL! "hardcore" and it's basically Wii sports and CoD. Yes, Wii sports is hard to the core Y'all! That Mutha truckin CoD is hardcore on the real son! Think I will keep playing MUSHA and 1cc it like the casual gamer than I am in shame.
All of those celebrities announcements were from 7th gen lol is gaming to mainstream now so they don't care about professing their love for it so they can be a "nerd"
Olivia Munn is probably the only REAL "hardcore" gamer of them all seeing she used to be on my favorite tv show growing up. (G4 Attack of the Show)

Every show on G4TV was my favorite show growing up, even robot wars. And I mean, I see gamers on twitch do far worst for views, but they play games to pay the bills so that doesn't make them hardcore gamers?? lOl
Destiny 2 is capped at 30FPS on all consoles, including the Xbox One X. That's got a lot of people angry. Are you one of them? What do you think about Bungie's decision?

Sounds like devs didn't have a choice on it (and the PS4 PRO) judging by the way their game engine works.

This is literally the only reason its 30.
Other games are doing 60 wth better visuals and its 60 on PC so not an engine issue.
It would be cool if they added specific lobbies in the crucible for people with the upgrades to play against each other.
More likely the minor processor upgrade isn't capable of pushing much more frames per second. Better to be locked at 30 than jumping all around 40-50.
I think it has more to do with fairness to xbox one players. Xbox One X players will have a huge advantage over the xbox one players in pvp if one runs at 60 and the other runs at haf
When are you people going to realize the reason it cant get to 60 is because of the weak cpu in both consoles
I think for them to allow both XBox One and XB1X gamers to play the game together, they need to have the FPS be the same. I honestly thought they could have just let the XB1X gamers play against the PC gamers instead at 60fps. I don't understand why then couldn't do both. I'm sure they could simple lock the game at 30fps for one mode and 60fps for another. Unless the PC & XB1X versions are vastly different.
Replies(8)Get a proper cpu ANd then come back. Tired of excuses. A jag cpu will never be a good match for 4k at 60 frames. No Matter how much overclock or custom.
You can still do lower res/higher frame rate. Don't tell me this game is more demanding than bf1/stbf2. Especially if we are just talking Destiny 2's competitive modes.
I dont think so, as you lower resolutions games become more cpu bound as the gpu would be able to push out frames faster than the cpu can request for the next frame. At the end of the day the jaguar cpus are a bottleneck.
Its not as simple as "oh it can't do 4k/60, so just do 1080/60." The resolution isn't the problem here. This is why when a new cpu comes out into the market, e.g. Ryzen, it is benchmarked on games using lower resolutions such as 1080p as running games at lower resolutions creates a more cpu bound senario.

thats not the case a lower resolution holds less textures witch means it takes less draw calls to produce
the image... thats why developers dropped the resolution on games to 900-720p to hold a steady fps
on ps4 and xb1.

I don't think BF1 is running in native 4K though on PS4 Pro. It's most like running in a lower resolution and upscaled to run at 60FPS. I'm sure Destiny 2 could easily do this as well, but the OG PS4 and OG XB1 can't. They can only run the game at 30fps.

Game was 30 FPS on the original, I didn't know, I didn't care, I sunk about 100 days of play time into it regardless, and I loved it. It made no difference.
