Ok, i'm sorry if this offend people, but i haven't played a FF game before and i don't know why people are so exited about it, it's like if Ps3 owner were about to have sex with a Hot Super Model but now have to share with X360 owners and every body is mad. It that it? Is playing FF like having Sex with a Super Model, because last time i have to share that super model the game disappointment me alot. Yeah, that game was GTA4.

I see every body saying "OMFG WTF SONY?" take it easy people, it's just a game, like DMC4 was, like GTA4 was, like any other Ps3 lost exclusive. Also Sony haven't even had a Chance to show what they have.

Common people...let it be. I'm a huge FF7 fan myself, but let it go. FF7 ended long ago, and even with Square's (bizarre) story augments I don't think that they should waste anymore resources on a remake. Personally, I think FF7 ended the way it should have, for being a 1997 game.

You know what, after what happened yesterday i don't want a FF 7 remake coming to the Xbox 360. I'll just play the original. Screw it Squarenix and work on your stupid long awaited multi platform release of FF13. You lost all credibility with me.

dear god, just let this f'in game die. The more they add on to it, the more the whole story just feels ridiculous. Advent Children only had tight action, the story was trite, Dirge of Cerberus was once again another failed action game from Square's sorry hide, and Crisis Core.....they should've just made a damn 3D movie and been done with it, because the gameplay sucks balls.

I love Square, I love Final Fantasy, but when they keep destorying their own IPs, its kinda......sad.

i know we can trust you on this, because ive seen allot of your post and are very reliable but i hope your source is wrong.

FF7 was done with 3d characters on 2d backdrops. Each environment had certain boundaries that prevented you from going anywhere else. Let's say it took you roughly 6-12hrs to get from the beginning to your first venture into the world map (depending on how good you were). Midgar was a pretty big town BACK THEN. Now, let's render it in full 3d. You see the problem? If every screen in Midgar was fully explorable, you blow up the time it took just to the world map by at least 6-8hrs more. Since, now you add in the time it takes to explore the world.

There were just certain technical limitations back then that made FF7 possible. And what good would a remake in 3d be if it still followed the same path of travel through the game? So the game would indeed be bigger, but it wouldn't feel the same. And the music! What made FF7 so charming back then was how INFERIOR its audio quality was. The cartoony chocobo noises, the low bitrate midi sounds, the PCM soundtrack. Revamp it in high def and add voice overs to the script, and you'll forever lose its charm.

I'll say it again: FF7 ended the way it should have for being a 1997 PSX game.

I didn't play this on the original Playstation, but I did buy the steam version after hearing about the amazing mods that are available. Square Enix definitely made the right decision to re-release this game on multiple platforms decades after release.

I am still wishing for the day Nintendo releases the original Pokemon Red and Blue on mobile with online features.

Edit: I am also looking forward to the day Square Enix ports FFX to mobile.
