cool86560d ago

sony lost final fantasy!!!!
OMG whats sony going to do.

MS how much did you pay?!!!

QueefyB6560d ago

angelitos have a bubble you are correct

DJtyler6560d ago

Hey Guys! Why blame M$? They may be "stealing" exclusives,& "bribing" companies but guess what? It's business! They are fighting and fighting hard to win the console war as they should be! Sony is a big company! They have plenty of money! They need to wake up and start fighting back before they lose everything. This was a knockout blow. We will find out tomorrow if they get up off the floor.

Auron6560d ago

This is the reason fanboys should keep there mouths shut! now how stupid do they look now?

Old Snake6560d ago

Who cares? The more people who play it the better. It is a great franchise

Auron6560d ago

Im just sayin some people think they can say something will never happen like they own square or sumthing

Tmac6560d ago

Sony does have money invested in Square, So I'm wondering what is behind this exactly.

Tempist6560d ago

Yeah I'm sure a lot of people want to own another Lost Odyssey. I'm going to say that FF XII will be a four disk release. It was probably to help make a big push for the 360 in Japan more than anything. It will not sell like hotcakes in North America, not for the 360 at least.

Wow. That's a crushing loss for Sony. It's not really surprising given Square's financial problems as of late, but it is on the front that they have been cramming it down the media's throat for as long as they've been asked that it was PS3 exclusive. No "maybe", no "we don't comment". Nothing.

Hugh loss for Sony, I can't say it enough. Many people would have picked up a PS3 for this alone, and I know Sony doesn't buy exclusives, but they really should have considered it BIG TIME on this one. Sony better have some huge things up it's sleeve for their presentation to counter this. Either snag a XBOX exclusive or come out with some really heavy hitting new IP's. (Please, don't read this like I think the PS3 has nothing. It has a lot of great stuff coming down the pipeline, this just happened to be one BIG part of the future lineup.)

That was one of the reasons I picked up a PS3 first (other than I feared the XBOX dying on me), due to all the games that I loved getting sequels on the new PS but that isn't exactly panning out.

I'm going to try and scrounge up $300 for a PRO while I can get it at that price, otherwise it'll be a while before I get the BOX. Sony will hopefully hit us with some equally big news tomorrow.

Superfragilistic6560d ago (Edited 6560d ago )

Sony may own a share of Square but it's a relatively minor 8.6% http://www.square-enix.com/...

Square simply saw ways to make more money for the majority of its shareholders and went ahead and did so.

Mozilla896560d ago (Edited 6560d ago )

out of another exclusive, come on man start dropping that money to pick up exclusives! As much as I know some people will downplay it, it is huge like the guy above me said. It was a big game for the 2009 line line up that just went off. I never thought I'd see the day when the Square Enix line up consisted of multi platform or 360 exclusives.

Sony better have some good exclusives of their own because I dont see them doing much on that front.

sony lost final fantasy...Farewell Exclusive.

deeznuts6560d ago

Final Fantasy was never Sony exclusive, IIRC

But this is big. Real big.

littletad6560d ago

While being oblivious to the actual history of Final Fantasy is quite hilarious. Or maybe that it depresses you that much.

iamtehpwn6560d ago

Killed The idea of an exclusive. Games just cost too much, and 360 and Ps3 aren't moving enough hardware. If they moved as many units as Wii, exclusives would still be existent.

Tempist6560d ago

I have to say this was for the most part very, very unproductive for Microsoft. They could have done better, much better.

Monty_The_Great6560d ago

they could of made some huge announcement about getting a highly touted system selling exclusive from another console. Oh wait, they did. I mean all they did was show games that are coming out this year, and then hit you with, IMO, the biggest announcement ever at any E3. No one saw this coming, no one ever thought FF13 was coming to the 360, no one.

dantesparda6560d ago (Edited 6560d ago )

It was a weak conference. The only big thing in it was the FF announcement. But other than that, weak! And i dont care about FF or RPGs so its not that big a deal to me, i just cant believe how stupid Sony is on letting it go, knowing damn well the fanboys will use this to beat them over head with it. Dumb bastards

And i proclaim this. 3rd party exclusivity mis a thing of the past.

Ghoul6560d ago

worst conf ive seen in years and ff13 is really nice but no exclusive

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

DarXyde69d ago

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

Soy69d ago

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
