No.

It helps with longevity for people that are that way inclined, but personally, once I complete the singleplayer campaign 100% I have little desire to keep playing it. Time to move on to the next game.

Unfortunately, that's not how the newer generation of kids play these days, when they pop a disc in, WAIT, let me scratch that, when they start up their downloaded, season pass enabled games, they jump straight into online multiplayer first, sad, but it's a fact, and that's what developers are aiming for these days because obviously that's where the moneys at. What ever happened to splitscreen and system link? Na, scratch that because there's no profit in that, they need something that requires an internet connection so they can try to reach further into your wallet, there's no denying it, just look at GTAV for example, the shark cards, the neat features that are exclusive to online, it's sad.

I miss the days of couch co op, good FINISHED single player games, games developed by other gamers, and expansions could pass as full length games at a reduced price.

Seems like now with most games (not all) co op is tacked on to help "push" the game towards that extra play time. I remember when unlockables were the thing, now it's "pay or miss out" which divides the community and fans of that series (Destiny comes to mind).

i put a good single player campaign over a multilayer any day.

The Batman Arkham series is perfect without a multiplayer mode

RedSoakedSponge4082d ago

no. games like fallout and elderscrolls really dont need it, and would benefit from the time that normally goes into multiplayer be used to extend the single player

Randostar4082d ago

I think those games actually WOULD benefit from having 2 player co-op. While i know that they are extremely narrative driven games, 2 player co-op would make those games last a lot longer for some people. Just my opinon of course, and i can completely see where you're coming from, cause i believe alot of games dont need any multiplayer aspect at all.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio24d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing24d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9224d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit24d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing24d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9224d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
