Does anybody else think at the end of the ad when Chief jumps, is different than the CGI and might be the ingame part of the ad Bungei said would be in the ad?.

a cool trailer.no actual gameplay was shown,but very cool.i think games would be great if animation and camera work were at that level.what would also be cool if the the game was given the option for third person.and shooting in second person like in re4,splinter cell and gears of war.creating that cinema feel.

I'll be so much more hyped for Halo 3 (fps isn't really my forte) if they can create a great story for the last one and really make Master Chief a protagonist that the player cares about. Historically fps has been a genre where the characters are generic and unimportant to the understanding of the game. So far those flashback scenes look great.

Man every time I see this I get hype.

Imagine this, I heard from somebody that the girl little chief was with was his sister. What if master chief had the ability to bring his sister through the game in co-op. It would be like your typical halo co-op, but this time online with a different model spartan outfit. So that would match Gear's seamless online co-op.

Heck why doesn't he just bring along his whole family and have 4 person online co-op.

I love fps games and love how in Halo you can see your full body which pulls you deep in the game! Games in 3rd person are cool but Halo was made to be 1st person except when on vehicles which is perfect for the game! This is honestly the coolest trailer I've seen all year and makes me even more excited about being a 360 owner!

but this game might sway me to get a 360. Who knows, maybe the price of the premium 360 will go down by then, and I will certainly pick up. So far, GOW is the only game right now that truly stands out on the 360. I look forward to more AAA games comming on the 360, which will make me pick one up.

This is the best trailer I have ever seen, this trailer got me so hyped up. There is no gameplay at all, but hopefuly the final game can try and look close to that. Those are all Brutes by the way, Frankie already confirmed it.

Nice trailer that whets your appetite by showing interesting things without letting you see the gameplay. The assault rifle we knew about. But the pistol looks like the original Halo pistol, which is great because the pistol in Halo2 was worthless, even when you dual wielded them.

But the sprinting was new, the weapon changing was new, and the shield was awesome. I cen clearly see how useful that will be in multiplayer. When you need to buy a few seconds for your team you'd be able to block off corridors, or survive a laser/rocket attack if timed right.

And I love that they provide this stuff over Live. It really does help with that sense of community. All I can say is that, as with Bioware, Halo games are instant, ask not questions purchases.

I get tears in my eyes everytime I see a new Halo 3 trailer and it reminds me of when optimus prime died early in the Transformers movie.

Infact, I would not be surprised if the Chief also dies in Halo 3 in some noble sacrifice to save humanity. Just imagine Cortana speaking about post apocalyptic hope and the start of a new era, in which the Chief is nothing more than a legend - dust in the wind!

No doubt that the Chief will fight along side the Arbiter (that we got to play with in Halo 2) and there will probably be a new sparten that will emerge and fall in the Chiefs footsteps.

Honestly though, Halo is in a league of it's own. Infact looking back; I can honestly say that for all of the times that I tried to convert a Playstation fanboy to the Xbox camp last gen - it was primarily because I wanted everyone to experience what is truely the pinnacle of gaming - that being Halo.

Sure Grand Theft Auto and other PS2 games may have sold more in total but that is because they had much bigger install bases. Halo is by far the biggest franchise in video games because gamers voted with greater intensity by making the Halo 2 launch the biggest single day entertainment release in history. Bigger than any Star Wars movie, bigger than any console launch, bigger than even Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings.

Never before have so many stores stayed open at midnight and put on the types festivities that were experienced for Halo 2. And to see so many Xbox players stand up and salute a game that we all knew had touched our hearts and rocked our world - was beyond discription and definately a little strange / surreal.

Seeing the Chief get back up in the trailer and then start running directly to the covenant to kick some butt was awesome but for Halo fans it was more than just a cool CGI trailer - it was the return of THE CHIEF!.

The return of ROCK AND ROLL!

You just know they are going to tease you so badly that you'll be out waiting in line weeks before the game even releases and then play it through straight and the only time you get a break is when you feel your 360 needs one.

Listen here you little blue SOB! i can't find the full anouncment on Bungie's site, but check out Attack of the show on G4's web site because they anounced it as i put it in my comment above, they were under the impression that the ad was CGI mixed in with what we'll see in the game, all i can find is a shorter version of the MNF Halo3 anouncment.

I had a few beers that night but im sure they said it may be Cgi but they will have what will be in the game in that ad.

cgi or not it was pretty cool when he throws the shield and that explosion happens, rocks my surround sound indeed! :) Oh and... "The ad is a mix of live and computer-animated footage, but it won't include any in-game shots." so probably the last scene which looks a little more like a video game is in game in engine assets but not necessarily in game footage, so it wont look like the trailer, but we all know it will still look good...Bungie was definetly the first company to get a 360 machine

but even when they have something good to say(jin,dj)they still get attacked.that's why some of you don't make any sense.they liked the video,get attacked.doesn't mean they have to play the games you like to be "real gamers".and as for mart,if the only game jin sees to get 360 for is gears of war and halo 3,what's wrong with that?he has the right to choose the games he likes for the system he gets.

which after a year and a half is amazing, you gotta admit that this was some great stuff. Shield grenades are the best FPS idea that I've seen in a long time.

I can't wait to see how these two titles end up comparing next year.

Why would anybody want to compare Killzone to Halo? Granted both trailers were great but H3 had that just cool feeling with it's deep story you just didnt feel in the Killzone trailer! Yes Killzone was very pretty and what I hope the game looks like one day but it's not Halo and will never be Halo or better!

When i saw this i thought this was gonna turn in to some stupid ass agruement about the 360 over the PS3 or vice-versa, while some post showed potential for it, nothing came from it.

As far as the trailer goes it looks F'n awesome. I not a big Halo fan as i feel the game tends to be overrated, but the trailer looks awesome and just great. The only other trailer that can even compare would be the killzone trailer. I hope that this game will change my mind because i just wanna have stuff to play all the time if even a weekend rental.
I wish they could release the Halo movie in CG much like they did with Advent Children. Am not a fan but i'll watch the movie over and over if it looked as good as the trailer.

the trailer was well made, but this wasnt ingame......ofcourse the beauty of such CGI is amazing.......but im used to "ingame" cutscenes and not CGI when it comes to halo.

never the less ill get a halo 3 pack when its out...untill then i wont be getting a xbox360

Who ever keeps talking about killzone quit it coz you know the original was crap and you wished you were playing halo the whole time you was struggling with killzone. besides the halo trailer was better from a Directors perspective. The halo trailer was only done cause the graphics side of things aren't far enough in dev to show yet (in the Devs opinion) so they did a cgi trailer to show u some bits of things to come like the shield and the OLD (better) hand gun also after the last explosion the rest of the trailer is in game.

Just one more year until i and many others will be able to play the final game of Halo 3 on mine and their Xbox 360's. This trailer is awesome and it does show a few more things which could be in the game. Hopefully in Halo 3 we will learn more about Master Chief's past, and yes i have read the books. In the UK OXM 360 theres this quote about the 20 second single player trailer that was shown to them. "When Bungie said blink and you'll miss it, it was right. But we spotted them- Spartans! For the first time in a Halo game MC looks to have back up in the form of other Spartan warriors. We briefly saw an AI- controlled Spartan Run over to a new type of vehicle we've never seen or heard before, jump on and join the battle."

Here is another quote from the UK OXM 360 "The multiple levels of the environment housed turrets that had been manned by both Covenant and human soldiers. Everyone was firing everything they had, or could get their hands on, at each other - all at once! With this much action going on, you might expect some slowdown from a game in early development, but everything ran smoothly."

This trailer screams CGI movie NOW!!!!!! Who needs actors and such when you have the power for ultimate eye candy goodness that is CGI?

PS. I also thought the original transformers were awsome, but then they made it sooooooooo incredibly stupid I began to hate it and stopped watching it years ago.

Halo 3 is gonna be the shiznit. I can't wait. I'm totally hyped now. I was a bit dubious over the graphics having seen all the rather "halo 2" looking multiplayer screenshots but the reports on the single player campaign paint a different picture with great smooth graphics and a lot of action going on at the same time.

Anyone have anymore single player excerpts from the magazines?

I would be trying to push sales of the first two. These sales would realy go up about 3-6 months before Halo 3 comes out. A little more scratch never hurts.

Halos dead

Just like the first one being remade, using UE5💩 MS with all their money couldn't get ID Tech 8 and modify it to work with the Halo remakes? 😑 If they did I'm 100% sure it would run as good as Doom The Dark Ages. I can see the performance issues already. As DF Alex puts it "stutter struggle".

I just hope they're good. Halo CE remake looks very good, so this could be good for Halo.

Of course, let's go with the Nintendo way.

Considering Halo 3 never got the remaster treatment, I strongly support this endeavor. Let's give Reach the remake treatment at some point, too.

Not for me personally, I enjoyed the Master Chief Collection, but not enough to invest in the remakes, the MCC still feels relatively new to me.

A lot of people asking for Multiplayer, just go by an Xbox, hell, almost any Xbox, or get a 1/2 decent PC, then if you really wanted to play Halo, you can play all of them.

MS multiplatform situation has really show that people talk so much smack it's not even funny, people go on how exclusives sell consoles, but I see it's only to a small degree, people usually go with where there friends are or the hype surrounding something (Nintendo is the exception). A lot of PS fans bought Forza, GoW:Remake: Sea OF Thieves, and PS Fans bought Grounded, in fact these MS games were dominating Sony sales charts...so if exclusive sells systems, why didn't Sony fans buy an Xbox to play these one time exclusives, that they clearly wanted to play?
