Simon O'Neill discusses Ubisoft's descent into arrogant madness and their impact on the once beloved Assassin's Creed franchise.
Do you still enjoy Assassin's Creed, or are you like many others in that you think it is a dying IP? Let us know.

Clint Hocking, the creative director of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game, Codename Hexe, has left Ubisoft, VGC understands.

“Assassin’s Creed” publisher Ubi soft is trying to emerge from a rocky few years. CEO Yves Guillemot breaks down the new strategy for success.
“Ubi soft is trying to emerge from a rocky few years“
^ THIS after Ubisoft’s fluff pieces about how great they are doing after Assassins, Attack on Titan and laying offs. The hype fell the floor apparently.
I was a bit gutted with The Division, too many bells and whistles like Far Cry. Never rated Prince of Persia or The Crew. Rayman, it’s too long in the tooth, lay it to rest.
Far Cry and Assassin's Creed, this is all Ubishit can make. It would be better if Ubishit just close down, and sell their other IP's, like Splinter Cell, Beyond Good and Evil, etc. Far Cry and Assassin's Creed can just die, that is enough.

'The economy is in shambles and these companies are still talking about sustaining growth instead of sustaining their business.'
They should just make games. That sounds crazy, I know, but, hear me out.
No need for dev-times to.take 3+ years. Just stick to formula. Not every game needs to be bigger & better than everything else. Not every game needs to be GaaS. Not every game needs to completely re-invent the wheel.
They KNOW how to make a cool Splinter Cell game; Interesting story, 8-10 levels, just go and make it. Give the people want they know, want and love. It doesn't need to be a shared online experience. It doesn't need to be an epic big open world. It doesn't need celebrity voice-acting. Just make a cool new SC game, and the fans will be happy and pick it up. Easy. Done. Next one.
Same for Prince of Persia, Watch-Dogs, Assassin's Creed, Trials, Rayman, Brothers in Arms, etc.
Keep them coming Ubisoft, I've never laughed so hard at a game before like I have with Unity!

Assassin's Creed Unity was going to be my first Assassin's game I played but now that I think of it I'm glad I didn't buy it
I stopped buying these games after Patrice Desilets left the company. I knew then that the story would unravel quickly and promptly auger into a big steaming pile of story-telling dung.
And, voila!
I still enjoy the series but I think the jump into MP made the story of the series suffer. I'm definitely skipping this years game, but next year if they are in an Asain setting with the birth of the ninja...i'm certainly on that.
I personally enjoy the games, but once a year is ridiculous.
They either need to end the series, or release them every two years.
I still love the games for its diverse locations, gameplay, beautiful visuals and intricate and complex and engaging narrative aspects.
