Xbox 360 Darwin Motion Controller Video Roundup

From XboxOZ360:

"Here on our Gamer Video Page we would like you to check out 3 games that are using the Darwin 360 Motion Controller ? - Tiger Woods 2008, Lego Star Wars & Harry Potter. Earlier on we posted an article on the Newton Motion Controller by Motus Games which also ran by the code name Darwin, this follows on from that story and gives more facts about the Darwin Project."

looks really fake

and if its real the controller have really bad time answer

Superfragilistic6500d ago (Edited 6500d ago )

I'm more worried about the delay in those videos. He's playing Star Wars and every time he swings it takes a full second to respond and replicate on screen!

EDIT:

So it is... seems like I've got the accuracy of those toilet-roll motion controls! lol :)

but that looked bloody good to me and way more interesting than what we've seen on the Wii. I don't care if Ninty fans thumb me down to eternity. That looked more like what gamers we're expecting from the Wii-mote and if they can also do a better job with FPSs ... and drop the 360's price comparable to the Wii, then I have no clue have core gamers won't go get a 360 instead of a Wii.

This won't kill the Wii at all I think cause Nintendo's Wii is getting a chunk of it's momentum from the non traditional gamer this gen and they are the core fanbase for Nintendo not core gamers. However, if MS can manage to get some "casual family friendly" games going on there too.... uhm, Nintendo will certainly feel it.

It'll fun to see what happens cause it was kinda obvious Nintendo and MS were in some sort of soft alliance to oust Sony's PS3 but now the 360 seems like it has it's sights on Nintendo's Wii and this maybe a battle it can hope to have a good fight on I'd think.

Very interesting

it looks like there is a delay between the swing of the remote and the action performed on screen. hopefully this is software and not hardware related. i stopped playing wii after i found out the controls were sloppy, i hope this addresses the wiis controller sloppiness, if not ill give it a miss.

" That looked more like what gamers we're expecting from the Wii-mote and if they can also do a better job "

Wii is already doing that.(The first harrypotter for Wii did exactly what you saw in the first video)
When the guy swings the controller, the starwars characters do NOT mimmick the movements. They are all static animations.

All im seeing is 3 Wii games, seriously they do not look like 360 games at all.

Cubear, i rather not say this but you are full of it.

@Zen,
...Sloppy? Its the developers who do not make good use of the Wii-mote. Try using Bluetooth to connect your Wii-mote to your pc and use Wiinmote. You can see how accurate it is.

OMG how cool would star wars be with this! I now just want another starwars FPS. Harry Potter would be interesting, but its already been done on the Wii with the wand waving. Golf would be pretty sweet also.

gaminoz6500d ago

I was excited about the Aussie-made Star Wars Force Unleashed on Wii, because waving a lightsabre around would be kind of cool, but the graphics on the system really get me down and I'll probably get the 360 version.

Imagine having motion control and the power of the 360 or PS3!

Poor Xbots

Poor Xbots, you guys have made a fool with yourselves. Poor Xbots, you guys said motion sening aint needed, but your copying thw Wii, hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!

Can't they come up with a better name for this other than the father of the evolutionary theory? Why not Archimedes while we're at it, at least that would make more sense. What a total marketing failure.

Millah6500d ago

Thing looks like it just controls terribly and just don't work nearly as good as the Wiis controller...fail

Why did Microsoft leave it to some no name company like this? They should have designed it...

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
