EGMR writes: "It’s no big secret that a great many games undergo changes during development, especially from original conception. By change we’re talking about a lot more than just a graphical downgrade, and more to do with mechanics, art direction or even entire concepts. Often these changes result in a completely new game from what was first conceived, and that can leave audiences pretty mixed as some may grow attached to the initial revelations, especially if gameplay was shown.
"While there are dozens of stories out there of games that were completely reinvented during development and emerged as different animals upon release, in this feature we’re focusing on five modern examples, a number of which may still be fresh in the memory. However a few of the stories here may have slipped under the radar or some of the facts may have been lost on the average person. Nevertheless, we feel it’s pretty interesting to explore these games, especially since a number of them turned out great irrespective of their monumental changes."
Whether due to publisher deals gone sour, licenses expiring, feuds between developer and publisher and other reasons entirely, there’s a wide range of games that you just can’t buy digitally anymore.

Torrents are there. I actually have the original CD's from NOLF 2, never going to part with them.😁
I still have my PS3 copy of Spec Ops, Battlefield Bad Company 1&2 & Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1/2.
Planning to replay those and a few others, but the controls feel so loose now compared to modern games.
Change the title to: Amazing Games That Have Been Abandoned by Stupid Publishers Who Don't Care About their Legacy, so You Should Pirate and Enjoy them.
Okay, maybe that title was a bit too long. 😅
I missed out on the chance to buy BFBC1 on Xbox and I just want to kick myself silly. One of the best PS3 experience of my life. The feeling, impact, sound design of this game was leagues better than BF games that followed
Before your elbows turn to dust, let’s take a look at some PlayStation 3 games that have stood the test of time the best.
no beyond 2 souls or heavy rain god of war 3 uncharted 2 3 should got a mentioned
Whoever prepared this. Thanks for writing something meaningful for a change instead of the clickbait crap others do.
Ridge Racer 6 on the Xbox 360 played a lot better than Ridge Racer 7 on the PlayStation 3, which included Ridge Racer 6 tracks. Ridge Racer 6 was the last quality game in the series.
Replaying kz2, kz3, r1, r2, r3, kens rage 1 & 2, 3d dot game heroes etc. and they all aged beautifully. Also, playing these games in the hardest difficulty reminded me of how hard games were on the PS3. How I had such a love & hate relationship with these games.

Hugely disappointingly, it seems that Guerrilla Games, developers of the Killzone and Horizon series, may be done with Killzone for good.
1 was fine, overhyped as a " halo" killer
2 was a graphical beast at the time, and felt heavy
3 was good a refinement of 2 but not much else. weird audio issues environment were to quiet
shadow fall was pretty but bland
I dont mind if someone else takes up the mantle for the KZ franchise. We are several years removed from the first game. It certainly could use a remake to gauge interest in the rest of the series. I know it has its fans... Im thinking of how a proper reboot can rekindle that old dormant flame and bring in a new generation of fans in the process.
Would like a new IP before Horizon 3. Just because games take so long to make these days.
Fuse turned out great, good thing they changed it /s
