I rented it. Really wasn't all that bad. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I'll pick it up when it's at the $20 price point. Hopefully by then the DLC situation is majorly slashed.

is total shame, the game has great visuals they certainly could it tried to create a compelling story and levels along side a multiplayer, but this lazy fat asses went the easy way :/

I can't really justify spending 60 bucks on online only multiplayer games or single player only games. It just doesn't make economic sense for me anymore. My Xbox One has a decent backlog and there's too many good games coming out this year for me to just waste on a game like Evolve. Decent concept, has good visuals and gameplay, but the content is not there for me to take 60 bucks out and pay for it. Titanfall is really the only game in which I was hooked so much in the gameplay and the overall game where I didn't care that I spent 50 bucks on it.

Dude seriously though, don't give me a game that's $60 dollars when its not the full game!

It's just Tank mode from L4D2 expanded a little bit. Can't get much content from that.

I bought the game, I played it a few times at game conventions and it was a lot of fun but I was just not impressed, I haven't touched it in a while and I want to like it so bad, I really want to have another game I can play with friends that isn't Destiny but this just didn't hit the mark. =/

With the right team of 4 hunters working together, Evolve is a very fun game in my opinion, but otherwise it is a bit of a letdown.

As for Left 4 Dead, yes that was a great game, but it was by its very nature an easy game to pick up and play with randoms. It didn't require huge amounts of coordination or communication, and it was a very linear game, you literally just walked along a path killing zombies while making your way to safe houses. Evolve is much more open, in a small arena granted, and it requires a level of communication that you didn't really need in Left 4 Dead.

I agree that the game was overpriced for the content that was provided, but that is another conversation to be had.

Perfectly fine to say "we" in his article. There are more like minded individuals that feel just as the author does. The is simply not fun by no stretch of the imagination.
It lacks it.
You can get a bunch super, hardcore, dedicated friends together and some fun may ensure, but I guarantee this wont be the game that's played all night long.
It has no legs.
Left 4 Dead was leagues better than this.

The leveling is excruciatingly slow paced. there isn't enough variety in weapons, playing as the monster is a huge advantage over the hunters (still). The "tells" that give a way the position of the monster are pathetic. You get there waay to late.

I could go on.

Can there be fun? Yes. But then again when you pay money for a game, as games we FIND anything to latch on to, to justify our purchase. So we MAKE IT fun.

But innately the game lacks that pizzazz.

Plain and simple. I know it hurts to say, I wasted my money also. But I bit the bullet and moved on to games that actually brought a smile to my face.

Its not the game you wanted, but its the game the media wanted you to want.

It doesn't matter what you wanted. This is the game they wanted to make and me and a bunch of other people like it. It is a fun game in my opinion

Evolve may not be the game we wanted, but it's the game that consumers deserve for always buying into so many micro-transactions and day one DLC.

No, but perhaps what we deserve for encouraging/allowing micro transactions.

First game was a disaster. Full price release with more paid DLC than actual content. They dropped support so fast too. One of the biggest let downs in modern gaming.
