Assassin's Creed: Unity - Patch 5 Now Available On PC, "Physics Reset" Stuttering Still Not Fixed

DSOGaming writes: "After slightly delaying it, Ubisoft today released the fifth update for the PC version of Assassin’s Creed: Unity. While the company claimed that this patch would feature a number of PC specific fixes, we can safely report that the annoying ‘physics reset’ stuttering issues that has been plaguing the game from the get-go has not been addressed yet. Not only that, but the promised tessellation effects are nowhere to be found."

Not getting this game until they fix it, dont care how big the sale is or how much free dlc they throw at you.

decrypt4139d ago

Playing the game at 3440*1440, runs at 80-100 fps. Everything at ultra settings fxaa.

Amazing game i dont see why all the crying.

Get proper hardware or configure the game as per your hardware. Its a true next gen game, Rather the best looking game ever released.

kayoss4139d ago

Yes I will go and spend $1500 plus for hardware to play a broken game.

Psychotica4139d ago

Just curious, what are your system specs?

Ghoul4139d ago

your reply is like telling third world people they should just go to the supermarket if they are hungry.

@kayoss
I just spent $1000 to play a bunch of broken games and a bunch of amazing games as well. Just bought my GTX 970 yesterday and for $350 that thing alone looks better than my PS4. Many would consider me a PS fanboy, but I am serious this thing looks like a beast and makes no noise at all.

Titan z quad sli, now before you say overkill(i just play at insane resolutions, 3440*1440 is 2.5x the pixels of 1080p) I am really amused with how efficiently this game scales with 4 gpus, believe me not many games do that. The game runs just fine on something as dated as a GTX 780. Still manages about 45-60fps at high settings 1080p.

Its mostly console users complaining about the game, what they dont realize, is how technically demanding this game is. I personally havent seen any game with the number of NPCs this game boasts. The graphics running at max are jaw dropping. All of this requires horse power. Unfortunately consolers are led to believe their plastic boxes made with 2-3 year old mid range mobile parts are super computers.

I would blame the misinformation on the console makers, who mislead uninformed people with terms like Full HD, 4D blah blah.

Unity in my view is the best game released last year and is one of the first games in line made with next gen in mind (no xbox 360 or ps3 version). Hence its a very demanding game. Ubisoft honestly should have dropped the NPC count and resolution for the console version. IMO when consolers whine more about upcoming games not being optimized sooner or later developers are going to drop the 1080, 900p target and make games at 720p for ps4 and xb1 so the hardware can handle it. People just expect this poor hardware to magically play such demanding games flawlessly. No amount of optimization is going to make one of the best looking games ever released run well on mobile parts, sorry not happening.

PC gamers on the other hand have become used to mid range parts playing everything maxed out, which is due to last gen consoles having such a long life cycle. Which caused PC gamers not having need to upgrade.

@decrypt

Dude, you are set to game for the next century.

Femto4139d ago

i have 2 gtx 780s and the game still runs like shit, tried playing it with one card, same shit, the game is broken as fuck period

2pacalypsenow4139d ago (Edited 4139d ago )

@decrypt you do know that a titan z is basically two 780s with more Vram so calling 780s outdated mean you have outdated Hardware too, you have 12gb of vram and you're not even playing at 4k?
The Z is still part of the 7 series... Ill take 2 980's over 4 titan z for gaming at 3840x2160 any day of the week

Psychotica4139d ago

Wow, did you trade a car in for all that? :) That must of cost you quite a bit..

@kayoss

It's not broken. I know it's popular to say that and it gets parroted around left and right, but it simply isn't true.

It's a demanding game mostly due to the graphics techniques it is using and its open world nature, but I run it just fine on a single GTX 970. I do have a G-Sync monitor which smooths out the framerate tremendously, but even on my old monitor I had no problem playing at around 50fps, or capping the framerate at 30fps and maxing the settings.

Does this fix the ACU.EXE stopped working problem?

sungam3d4139d ago

The stuttering is what makes the game unplayable for me.
Especially when free running, and moving the camera around, pauses for a microsecond then my camera is facing the wrong way.

WHY YOU NO FIX?

nowitzki20044139d ago

Ill have to try this game out on my 970

BC_Master_Haze4139d ago

As will I, I've been told that the stuttering is nonexistent on that card. Just curious which one do you have?

nowitzki20044139d ago

The reference card. Have not used it yet, just bought it at best buy yesterday and still waiting for my ssd to come in to finish my first build.

I was going to go with the MSI Twin Frozr 5 or the Gigabyte 970 but in the end I just loved the way the reference card looks. You have one?

BC_Master_Haze4139d ago

Yeah the gigabyte G1, just recently completed my first build :D you will NOT be disappointed

RAYMEISTER4139d ago

Assassins Creed games have always run like crap on PC starting with the first one. If it wasn't for the free game promos they usually come with I would never play one.

Do the NPCs still randomly levitate every now and then? Even years later I noticed they hadn't patched that out

andy85830d ago (Edited 830d ago )

Honestly I loved the PS4 ACs. I'd love next gen ports of Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate
