"why have people stopped playing Destiny?"

Uh, give us more than repetitive, uninspired gameplay that feels like a poor-man's Halo most of the time and I'm sure people will go back to playing Destiny.

This was the biggest disappointment for me in all of 2014. Was hoping to jump on board with this game and Activision's little decade long support plan. Instead, it lasted like 2-months for me.

I stopped playing Destiny when I realised Borderlands blows it out of the water in just about every way.

Why have people stopped playing Destiny?

The reason SHOULD BE extremely obvious, and I must say as Destiny's numbers continue to twindle, I can't wait to bury this game 20feet under, the ashes I mean, after I have made a bomb fire stack of Destinys in honor of the demise of a very wicked business model perpetrated on gaming consumers.

PS- wanted to added did anyone notice the LACK of Next Gen content when Destiny 1st launched?

Good if you did cause that's one of the BIGGEST reasons for Destiny's success 1st time around, and I suspect with all of the HATE for this "Business Model" of stripping a game down and selling it in pieces, DLC bits.

They will do the same with Destiny 2(there will be a lack of AAA content around the time of Destiny 2 release), so that those who tried Destiny 1 but quit, will want to give Destiny 2 a try, they will market the crap out it of course, and sell you another illusion about how they listened to the fans and made all these "alleged changes" and how sorry they are for the mistakes they made blah blah blah,just a bunch of BS.

And of course the ADDICTS will fall for it again.

This article is bullshit. Its an opinion peace. Non factual. Every mmorpg has a surge at launch and then dwindles to a smaller user base. That said we don't know the numbers. Destiny I feel is a good game. Some of the complaints in this article are nit picky and some I feel are true. Either way, its an opinion peace. If you enjoy the game then enjoy it. If you don't.. Play other games.

I played Destiny pretty much daily until New Years. I didn't buy any new games after Destiny released until I got new games for Christmas...Dragon Age, Lords of the Fallen, Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls, The Crew, Assassin's Creed Unity, South Park, and Walking Dead Season 2. With all of those new games, I had too much other things to do, and haven't gone back to Destiny. I will probably go back to try the House of Wolves, but for the most part, I am done now. But it was fun while it lasted. I played Destiny more than any other game in 2014. I don't want to knock it, I've just moved on.

When I found out the next expansion wasn't coming out till May I figured it was a good time for a break to play some other stuff.

They got invited to every video gamers house across the world to see what their playing to give us all accurate Intel on what's going down............ Do I play this game? No.

After Destiny's BETA, the cat was out of the bag, people where already questioning the longevity of Destiny, gamers were already suspecting foul play because the BETA wasn't even close to what Destiny was marketed as.

Gamers had already realized after the BETA they had been duped and lied too, BUT the addicts...lol, yes those damn game junkies, they always ruin it for those with "Self-Control". This phenomena mixed with the lack of other AAA games.

Some gamers were hoping that the lack of content and story was just because it was the BETA and not the full game. And so they bought the game too, based on what they saw as potentially an outstanding game and experience.

Anyone actually believe Activision and Bungie weren't smart enough to realize this?, they straight up LIED in your face about Destiny, they over sold and under delivered. And in doing gave consumers the "middle finger".

But of course the compromisers and addicts/junkies, will defend Activision and Bungie, and Destiny, regardless of any "unethical" business practices by these scam artist's.

People stopped playing Destiny? I stopped in November but most of my fiends on PSN still play daily - I keep getting Raid invites and having to tell them I'm only level 22 and that will never change

I can only say from my perspective (haven't seen numbers).

Basically its the repetition of environments and the fact that the grind isn't even dressed up with humour, characterization or anything, like it is in say Borderlands. Its a dull, slightly generic gaming world, albeit one that looks nice in HD.

This lack of content is then brought into sharp focus by the IMO unnecessarily complex leveling system that kicks in after level 20.

Once I reach level 20 the game ground to a shuddering a frustrating grind. Why mix 2 systems together? Why not start with one and stick with it? I really want to know.

The other issue is that the PvP multiplayer isn't that great. Its a grenade spamming chore with no flow. So the only incentive is to play it is for the loot, not pleasure...a path which Bungie basically forces you down after level 20.

When all is said and done, despite the many fine elements to Destiny its a dyed in the wool 7/10 game with a AAA budget.

Why did people start, is a more appropriate question. Absolutely nothing to do but gind over and over again with absolutely no lore to back up the reason for said loot grinding. No thank you. Moving on....

So many reasons but very little time to list them, for me it was the lack of story , useless A.I and the mad repetitive mission after mission .

It was fun for months and now it just simply boring. Dlc was no help. Raid was 6/10. Vog just simply destroy this new raid.

personally I gave up... I couldnt remember where I had or hadn't been and I ended up repeating bits I already done, that just got tedious very quickly... it was a bit like repeating single player mode on Battlefield 4 all over again and again and again...

They have no factual information to say people are abandoning the game, and it's getting REALLY tired with people saying the same thing about players leaving. Anyone who plays regularly knows there are a lot of people playing regularly. That being said, I've stuck with it this long, and there's nothing new to do. Hasn't really been for a while. It's ironic that in a game like Fallout, where they have every reason for the world to be bland and uninspiring, being that's it's literally a wasteland, is so much more intriguing and worthwhile than the Earth in Destiny. Or Mars. Or Venus. Or the moon.. The more I do play this game, the more I realize how much I miss Borderlands, which ironically will be out next month, alongside Bloodborne. And I know my social life will disappear like the story in this game once those are out, but I'm not complaining.

I still play Destiny quite a bit, but I am getting to the point that I have nothing left to do, and just as irritating, no vault space to put anything else.

I think Bungie is really screwing up by not having more minor, free events between the big DLC releases. We had the Queen's Wrath once and since then it's Iron Banner now and then only. They should be updating weapon vendors now and then, having limited time special missions with unique rewards (something less predictable than the weekly heroic and nightfall missions), and adding some general variety.

This must be one of those satire articles.

I go in, shoot some **** up, maybe get something I dont have (maybe), but I have fun playing, then im out.

There's way too much grinding for a gun I might not even like. The loot system is garbage.

I could see this game was a disappointment months away from release; open your eyes people!

To be honest, considering how lacking in content Destiny is, I am surprised anyone played the game more than 2 weeks. I loved it for 2 or 3 days at most. Then it turned into a useless grind.

Can't wait for Halo on my ps5.

I always thought Guitar Hero was boring the button clicking with the plastic guitar also got annoying. I played it twice with friends but I was also drunk and stoned. There are people who like Destiny but I never liked the game.
